In August 2021 when BANDAI SPIRITS celebrates the 4th anniversary of THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO opening, "THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD -Trial version-" as a trial aiming at "a virtual Gunpla entertainment comprehensive space where you can go to play from anywhere in the world" Deploy! Test operation will start in Japan for a limited time from August 19th (Thursday) to September 30th (Thursday), 2021.

* THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO opened on August 19, 2017 as Japan's first comprehensive facility centered on "Gundam models".

The Gundam Base Virtual World -Trial version- is Open for a Limited Time

Anyone can enter the newly created VIRTUAL WORLD by using a WEB browser. Visitors can freely move around the facility online, see a full-scale virtual diorama and watch various videos, a gallery with the history of Gundam Gunpla on the wall, and explore halo in the facility. You can experience virtual Gunpla entertainment because it is online while looking at various exhibits and products, such as plans that you can enjoy while wandering around. In addition, in this test operation, we have about 280 kinds of products including limited items.

* THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD will also sell products on a trial basis, but the quantity of both sales and reservations is limited. In addition, the number of purchases may be limited or sold out.

BANDAI SPIRITS wants to provide a new and enjoyable "Virtual Gunpla Entertainment Experience" as a new value through this facility. The site to be released this time is a "Trial version", which will be tested and operated for the construction of THE GUNDAM BASE in virtual space for the purpose of confirming the possibility of virtual Gunpla entertainment. In the future, we are planning to upgrade the version for global expansion by referring to the opinions of the questionnaires of those who visited the Trial version.

Anyone can enter "THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD -Trial version-", where you can experience the possibilities of new virtual Gunpla entertainment, by using a web browser during the test operation period.

Test operation period: August 19, 2021 (Thursday) 17:00 to September 30, (Thursday) 23:59 

Recommended environment:

"THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD -Trial version-" is recommended to be used on a PC in a Wi-Fi environment in order to fully enjoy the virtual space. You can access it with a smartphone, etc., but the reproducibility and operability may be limited. In order to use THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD comfortably, it is recommended to use it with the following browsers.

SPECIAL GUNPLA CORNER

Gunpla "PG UNLEASHED 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam" is a special Gunpla corner with a statue, and there is an exhibition and sales corner of notable items such as limited items.

UNIVERSAL CENTURY ROOM

This is a dedicated room for displaying and selling products of the UNIVERSAL CENTURY series. In the center of the room is a statue of "RG 1/144 Zeong". You can find your favorite products from the dedicated purchase pod.

ANOTHER GUNDAM ROOM

This is a dedicated room for displaying and selling products from series other than Universal Century. In the center of the room is a statue of "RG 1/144 Freedom Gundam". You can find your favorite products from the dedicated purchase pod.

HANGAR of PG UNLEASHED RX-78-2 Gundam

This is an exhibition area where you can appreciate the virtual diorama of "PG UNLEASHED 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam" under maintenance in the hanger (hangar). You can appreciate the maintenance scenery of Gundam from your feet, and you can experience a diorama like you have jumped into the world of diorama.

GUNPLA HISTORY GALLERY

This is an area where you can look back on the history of Gunpla and Gundam. We will unravel the history of evolution that will lead to the future.

G-THEATER

This is a corner where you can watch related videos of Gunpla and Gundam. During the period, the public video changes every week, and you can watch it slowly in the dedicated theater.

GUNPLA FACTORY NEXUS TOUR RIDE online edition

The opening video released under the theme of the future Gunpla factory "GUNPLA FACTORY NEXUS" at the Gunpla 40th Anniversary event "GUNPLA EXPO TOKYO 2020 feat. GUNDAM conference" held in November last year has been specially re-edited for this project. And publish it.

Photo spot

It is a spot where you can take a commemorative photo in front of the "PG UNLEASHED 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam" statue, the Zeong statue, and the Freedom Gundam statue.

Find the hidden halo!

If you find a halo hidden somewhere in the facility, answer the questionnaire and apply, 50 people will be given a Gunpla by lottery during the period.

The "HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam [PR Ambassador of The Japan 2020 Pavilion, Expo 2020 Dubai]", which is open for reservation at the "Hobby Online Shop" in Premium Bandai, will also be on sale. A 1/144 scale Gunpla version of the "Gundam" designed by Kunio Okawara, a PR ambassador for the Japan Pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, with new molds and stickers. At "THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD", a 360-degree exhibition (3D VIEW) of this product will be held, and you can check every corner of the impressive design.

THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD" 2nd Test Operation

As the second trial aimed at creating a "comprehensive virtual gunpla entertainment space where you can play from anywhere in the world", the second test operation of "THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD" has been decided! It was announced on the Bandai Hobby Site.

Within "THE GUNDAM BASE VIRTUAL WORLD", it is also possible to view and purchase general over-the-counter products and limited edition items. The exhibition will be held from September 15th (Thursday) to October 19th (Wednesday), 2022. Other details will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned for more news!
