REVIEW Robot Spirit [SIDE EVA] Evangelion Unit 13, Bandai

The following is a review of Robot Spirit [SIDE EVA] Evangelion Unit 13, a Robot Damashii action figure released by Tamashii Nation Bandai based on the original model of the Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Robot Damashhii [SIDE EVA] Evangelion Unit 13 Review

Evangelion 13 (エヴァンゲリオン第13号機[?], "Dai Juusangōki", lit. "Thirteenth Unit") is a Evangelion Unit belonging to the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series. It was introduced in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, piloted simultaneously by two pilots, Shinji Ikari and Kaworu Nagisa.

Body Unit

Faithfully reproduce the unique design that is similar to the first machine. The proportions and colors with a long body are just like the image in the play. The chest has a unique armor that is different from other Eva, and the abdominal armor is also special with few gaps.

Head Unit

At first glance, the head is similar to the first machine, but if you look closely, the difference between the four eyes is remarkable. The eyes are painted metallic.

It is a complicated design with many fine reds and greens, but the painting was accurate and it looked good. The mouth can be opened and closed as it is.

Arms and Legs Unit

The shoulder armor is smaller than the first machine, and there is no green on the arms and legs, giving a dark impression. It is also unique in that its legs are thicker and longer than the first machine.

Movable does not move the waist as much as the first machine because there are few gaps in the abdominal armor. The neck and shoulders were almost the same. The elbows are the same, but the knees do not bend as much as the first machine.

The hip joint is a pull-out type and moves well in the front, but there is interference on the side and it is reasonable. The grounding property is lower than the first machine due to the difference in design.

Weaponry and Accessories

A set of pedestals. Longinus spear. This was quite big and bigger than the image in the play. Cassius spear is also included. This is the same as the one attached to the renewal color of the first machine.

The stand joint can be attached by removing the back cover. RS hopper storage block. This is attached so that it covers the shoulder armor. RS hopper. This comes with 4 pieces. By inserting a special joint into the hole in the back, it can be displayed floating. Both ends of the column are ball joints, and the orientation and angle can be adjusted.

Although the size is small, it was noticeable because the metallic paint was used. Chest parts for 4 arms are also included. This can be easily replaced as it only replaces the chest armor.

The inner arm uses the same joints as the normal arm, and it is possible to fold the arm almost as in the play. With the first Cassius spear version. The size was much larger than the first machine.

Movability and Articulation

The RS hopper can be displayed in a natural way thanks to the joint that connects to the back. However, be aware that the columns are quite fragile and will break immediately if you do not move them from the root.

I also wanted a red-eye head, but it didn't come with it. Pull out the spear with four arms. Since the additional arm moves well, it is possible to grab one spear with two arms without difficulty.

The spear is long, but its joints are stiff, so it can be held firmly with one hand. Since it is large in size, it is quite flashy if you hold it in both hands. The sitting pose in Shin can be reproduced almost like that.

Bill uses the thing of Damashii Option Building. The first machine and the spear confrontation. Glaring in front of the table. It would be interesting to see Misato's room set, which looks like Goku's 8th minute set. As Gendou says, "Violence and madness are not the criteria for our settlement!", It's a very meaningless battle.

Summary

This is the review of ROBOT Spirit RoDa Evangelion Unit 13. The unique design, such as details and proportions, which is similar to the first machine, has been faithfully reproduced, and the purple color has been made as expected.

The movement was as good as the previous Eva, the 4-arm gimmick was replaced without any discomfort, and the contents were substantial, such as the RS hopper and 3 spears included, and the play value was high.
