REVIEW Chogokin XVX-016 Gundam Aerial, Bandai

This is review of action figure Gunpla die-cast Chogokin XVX-016 Gundam Aerial from Gundam The Witch from Mercury series.

Chogokin XVX-016 Gundam Aerial Review

Like the ROBOT SPIRITS, it is a model close to the setting image, and there is almost no original arrangement. The markings are also discreet and simple in appearance.

Head Unit

The setting picture and the street in the play are quite large. The forehead is made of clear parts so that the inside can be seen through. There is a light-up gimmick, but the metallic paint on the eyes is the usual.

The antenna has a sharp finish both front and back. The eyes can be illuminated with the included LR41 battery. Originally, the metallic paint was solid, so the light-up was not noticeable unless it was in a dark place.

Body Unit

The proportions are almost the same as the setting picture. The white part was a molding color that suppressed gloss, and the yellow part was all gold metallic paint.

Arms and Legs

This Gundam Aerial have thin arms and thick legs. Since it was a superalloy, there was no arrangement like a metal build and the marking was modest. The saber base can move back and forth. When the backpack is removed, there is a switch for lighting up the eyes.

The neck is reasonably movable, but the swing width of the waist is narrow. The shoulders can be raised horizontally, and the elbows and knees can be deeply bent.

Elbows and knees can be rolled and are flexible. The hip joint is not a pull-out type, but it can be moved widely in the front and back and sideways, and the grounding property is high. The shoulder can be pulled out about 30 degrees.

Weaponry and Accessories Option Set

Chogokin Gundam Aerial come with a set of pedestals. Rifle and shield equipped. Weapons are the same as the main body, and there is no arrangement, and only light markings are included. Auxiliary parts to maintain the angle of the wrist are also included. An effect attached to the tip of the rifle is also included, just like ROBOT SPIRITS.

It can be mounted on a backpack by using a joint. The shield is big, but it's not heavy, so there's no problem holding it. A method to attach a bit to a special part like ROBOT SPIRITS.

There are two points of holding: the grip and the joint. Both or one is possible. Parts for exclusive use of the shield with the bit removed. It is also possible to remove a part of the bit and attach it to the rifle to make it a long barrel.

Then bit on form. Attach the bit to your shoulder or forearm. The forearm bit is asymmetrical. It is worn on the side of the waist and on the back of the waist. Since the bit around the waist is a ball joint connection, it is possible to adjust the direction and angle.

It was also possible to collect accessories such as equipment and effects on the pedestal like Chogokin. It is also possible to fix only the parts dedicated to the shield when bit on form. The body is also set.

There is no conspicuous arrangement, so the impression is that it has been enlarged as it is. The shade of blue changes. Same Chogokin Yokohama Gundam, Metal Build Exia. Although it is a superalloy, the alloy usage rate is low and it was considerably lighter than the two bodies.

Movability and Articulation

As mentioned above, the movement was good overall and there was no problem with the holding power.

The stand is the same type as the metal build and is easy to use. However, it is a little disappointing that there was no prop for the bit like the ROBOT Spirits. The shield was quite large in size, but the fixation was solid.

If it is released in metal build someday, it will be included at that time. The width of the shoulder drawer is about 30 degrees, but I had no problem holding it with both hands.

The beam blade is painted over the clear, so it looks flashy. In the play, the beam blade was yellowish green, but the attached one is blue like ROBOT SPIRITS. Kneeling is also possible in the key visual. However, since the side armor interferes quite a bit, the back side is removed.

Summary

It's not a metal build, but an ordinary superalloy, so there's almost no arrangement, and it's a model that's faithful to the setting picture, just like ROBOT SPIRITS. The result was passable. Originally designed with little interference around the hip joints, the movement is good overall, and although it was a pity that there was no dedicated support, the gimmicks of Gambit are well reproduced, and the unique gimmicks of Chogokin, such as lighting up the eyes, are also included. There was no big dissatisfaction in terms of play.
