P-Bandai HG 1/144 XM-X0 Crossbone Gundam X-0 Full Cloth Review
The HGUC Crossbone Gundam X-0 Full Cross is the first Gunpla kit in the HG series that features the impressive Full Cross unit. This kit is based on the Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost manga series. It is available as an order item from Premium Bandai, priced at 2,750 yen.
The kit includes various accessories such as the Butterfly Buster B, Butterfly Buster x2, Buster Gun, Peacock, Beam Zumber, Core Fighter Unit, Buster Gun Handle, Zanbuster Handle, Scissor Anchor, Heat Dagger x2, Face Open Parts, and more. Additionally, it comes with beam effect parts and two beam sabers.
While assembling the kit, you have the option to customize it to your liking. It is possible to include the Muramasa Blaster and Peacock Smasher. The kit includes numerous stickers to supplement the color coding, particularly for the full cross thrusters and red lines.
The Full Cross is based on the X-0 specification, which means there may be leftover parts from the X1 specification. However, since the X-0 does not have certain features like antennas, it cannot be fully assembled as the X1.
The kit replicates the core fighter gimmick through part replacement. Painting is required for details such as the canopy of the core fighter.
Body Unit
The X-0 Full Cross, piloted by Curtis Rothko in Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost, is the main focus of this kit. It is based on the previously released Crossbone Gundam X-0 and X1 Full Cloth. As the name suggests, the X-0 is equipped with the Full Cloth. However, the Full Cross unit's shape differs slightly from that of the X-1, and new parts are used to represent the surface details.
Since the kit is based on previous Crossbone Gundam kits, it utilizes the PC002 polycap. As an HGUC Crossbone kit, there are several parts that are not color-coded, requiring the use of stickers or additional painting. Notably, the full cloth lacks yellow, red, and gray colors, including the fine thrusters.
With the full cloth removed, most parts are borrowed from the X-0. The head antenna and chest duct have different shapes compared to other versions. The white tip of the antenna is represented with a sticker, and painting is needed for the helmet lines and ducts.
The full cloth is attached to the chest and can be moved with a ball joint. In comparison to the normal version, there is a hole for installing the full cloth. However, the normal version's chest parts and ABC cloak are not included, preventing it from being assembled as a regular X-0. Therefore, it is not completely compatible in that regard.
The full cloth on the shoulders features the same design as the X1, with both the front and back connected by ball joints. Stickers are used to supplement fine thrusters, red lines, and gray parts. While the play showcases the backloaded with guns, this is not reproduced in the kit.
Although not mentioned in the manual, the structure remains the same, allowing the skull head to be attached to the arm.
Comparing the X-1 and Full Cross, the full cloth on the front side shows slight variations in the chest and shoulder shapes, while the back side remains the same.
The angle of the base and vernier can be adjusted without changing the backpack thrusters. However, the small thrusters require sticker application for color coding.
Arms Unit
The arms follow the structure of previous Crossbone Gundam kits. The color of the circular mold on the shoulder lacks detail but is supplemented with stickers. The kit does not include the beam shield and brand marker effect, but the shield deployment gimmick is present.
Weapons such as the peacock can be attached to the waist as before.
Legs Unit
The legs maintain the same design as previous versions, with gray knee parts supplemented by stickers. The red parts are molded in metallic red. The soles of the feet feature cutouts at the toes and other areas. A comparison can be made with the HGUC X-0.
Weaponry and Option Accessories
The kit includes an array of weapons, such as the Buster Gun, Beam Zumber, Heat Dagger, and more. Each weapon has its own unique design and functionality. Some weapons require painting for added detail and accuracy.
The Butterfly Buster is a featured weapon in the kit, with parts that can be swapped to switch between gun mode and sword mode. The kit also includes a variety of beam effects and two beam sabers.
The assembly and customization process allows for the incorporation of the Muramasa Blaster and Peacock Smasher, providing further options for personalization. The kit offers various stickers and painting opportunities to enhance the color scheme, particularly for the full cloth.
Summary
In conclusion, the HGUC Crossbone Gundam X-0 Full Cross is a kit that offers an impressive level of detail and customization options. While it requires careful painting and the use of stickers, the kit faithfully represents the unique features and weapons of the X-0 Full Cross from Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam: Ghost.
