Bandai Gunpla EX Model 22 1/144 TS-MA4F Mobile Armor Exass

The 'Mobile Armor Exus,' which appeared in 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny,' is now available as an EX model, exemplifying scale model quality with precision and attention to detail. All gun barrels are removable, and the cable connecting the main body to the gun barrel is accurately reproduced using lead wires.

The model also features a deployable missile launcher and a beam cutter, which is replicated using clear parts. Additionally, a display stand dedicated to both the main body and each gun barrel is included.

TS-MA4F Exass

The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED universe introduced many experimental mobile armors and mobile suits, and the TS-MA4F Exass stands out as one of the more distinctive support units from the Cosmic Era timeline. Developed by ZAFT, the Exass was designed as a high-mobility mobile armor intended to complement advanced combat operations with overwhelming speed and heavy firepower. Unlike conventional humanoid mobile suits, the Exass used a sleek, aerodynamic frame optimized for rapid assaults and space maneuverability. Its most recognizable feature was the array of detachable gunbarrel pods, remotely controlled weapons capable of attacking targets from multiple angles simultaneously, giving the machine a tactical advantage in both long-range and close-quarters engagements.

Piloted by the skilled coordinator Rau Le Creuset during testing phases, the Exass served as a technological precursor to later units such as the CGUE DEEP Arms and other advanced ZAFT experimental machines. Although it did not become a mass-produced weapon, the mobile armor demonstrated the growing emphasis on remote weapon systems and high-speed combat within the Cosmic Era. Fans of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED often remember the Exass for its elegant mechanical design and its role in showcasing ZAFT’s pursuit of cutting-edge warfare technology before the introduction of more iconic units like the Providence Gundam.

Plastic Model Bandai EX-Model

Bandai Spirits’ EX-Model line is a unique series of plastic model kits designed to bring iconic vehicles, machinery, and support units from popular anime franchises to life. Unlike traditional Gundam kits that focus heavily on articulated humanoid robots, EX-Model kits emphasize detailed mechanical designs such as spacecraft, fighter jets, battleships, and transport vehicles from series like Mobile Suit Gundam, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop. These kits are known for their realistic proportions, intricate panel detailing, and display-oriented construction, making them especially appealing to collectors and hobbyists who appreciate military-style modeling combined with anime aesthetics. Many EX-Model releases also feature color-molded parts and decals, reducing the need for extensive painting while still allowing advanced customization for experienced builders.

One of the standout qualities of the EX-Model series is its focus on subjects that are rarely produced in standard anime model lines. Bandai Spirits uses the series to showcase support vehicles and side-mechanical designs that play important roles within their respective universes but are often overshadowed by main characters or giant robots. The line has gained a dedicated following because of its balance between accessibility and high-detail engineering, offering builds that are generally straightforward yet visually impressive once completed. Although the EX-Model range is not as frequently updated as Bandai Spirits’ Gunpla lines, many older kits remain highly sought after by fans due to their distinctive designs and collectible value.
