Bandai MS Ensemble 18.5 Review
Mobile Suit Gundam MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE is a capsule figure series that allows for free recombination using a common standard based on 3mm joints. Bullets with decimal numbers of .5, such as this bullet 18.5, are other bullets with different coloring and some specifications than the regular resale. This lineup is filled with a variety of units and weapons with different paint and molding colors, making it a great choice.
The 18.5 series lineup includes the Prototype Gundam from MS Gundam MSV, the ARX-014 Silver Bullet Suppressor (Marking Plus) from Mobile Suit Gundam NT, the Zaku Warrior (Dearka's) and Zaku Warrior (Live Version) from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, and the Gigan from MS-X, plus the MS Weapon Set, for a total of six types. By making full use of the common standards unique to the Ensemble series, you can freely combine sets with each other as well as with previous series. Let's take a look at some sample reviews, including some unique combinations that don't exist in the series.
RX-78-1 Prototype Gundam
The Prototype Gundam is the first Gundam, whose existence was revealed in MSV. The gray parts in the 18th edition have been painted silver, giving it a chic color scheme and a strong metallic presence. Based on the first edition Gundam, this luxurious model uses many new parts such as the beam rifle, ankle armor, and backpack.
The head is made of silver, which highlights its shape. The silver color is vibrant and never gets boring to look at.
The holster on the side of the waist and the lower arms are also newly sculpted. The ankle armor is a separate part and is clearly color-coded.
The pose holding the special beam rifle also looks great.
ARX-014S Silver Bullet Suppressor (Marking Plus)
From Mobile Suit Gundam NT, the ARX-014 Silver Bullet Suppressor that appeared in the climax has been given a marking plus. As per the setting, the main body has four interchangeable arms mounted on the back, creating a beautiful ensemble of dense design. The coloring is a deeper blue, and markings have been added to both shoulders and waist. The back alone is very voluminous, making it a heavyweight unit that you should definitely pick up and check out.
The head is equipped with six antennas, including the back, and has a dignified Gundam-style face. Holding the Beam Magnum. The kneeling pose also looks good. The detail on the soles of the feet is also perfect!
Although the interchangeable arms do not deploy, they can be connected with 3mm joints. You can also take some exciting shots capturing the exact moment of the exchange!
ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior (Dearka's Machine)
A dark gray Zaku Warrior exclusively for Dearka Elsman, which appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY. In the 18th edition, it was a frame for Yzak's exclusive color, so this completes the combination. It is colored as expected and equipped with a beam assault rifle and shield. When combined with the MS weapon set described below, it has the expandability to recreate two forms, Gunner and Blaze.
The monoeye can be rotated to move its gaze from side to side.
The shield's base can be moved on three axes, allowing you to flexibly change its position. You can even pose it with the spikes ready!
ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior (Live Version)
The Zaku Warrior with special paint that appeared in Meer Campbell's live performance in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY movie is also included in the lineup! The live-specific paint on the chest, shoulders, and shield is beautifully printed. The molded pink color is very gorgeous and just as you would imagine. A beam assault rifle is also included, although it was not used in the movie.
The mono-eye on the head is also a special blue color.
The pose with Meer in his hand is very impressive. If you have the flat hand parts from previous releases, be sure to get those.
Action poses with the beam assault rifle are also possible.
MS-12 Gigan
Gigan from MS-X has been turned into a support unit! This MS was developed as part of a top-secret plan known as the Pezun Plan for base defense, and has a unique shape, with a quadruple 120mm cannon mounted on the right arm midway through, and three tires on the lower half of the body. It uses universal joints, and the finely divided parts and precise modeling give it an incredible sense of density. This edition uses the sand yellow coloring seen in the illustration.
The mono-eye on the head is made of clear parts, and the 180mm recoilless rifle on the top of the head and the power pipes on the abdomen are also precisely modeled.
Each part is equipped with a ball joint, so you can even create some bold action poses.
Turn forcefully with your left hand! The tires are ball jointed, so you can move them just like turning the steering wheel.
The elbows are connected with ball joints, allowing you to hold the shield and giving it a variety of expressions.
MS Weapon Set
The MS weapon set includes the Gunner Wizard, Blaze Wizard, and Beam Tomahawk for the Zaku Warrior, a helmet in the Dearka suit's color, a shield part for the right arm, and the Beam Javelin equipped on the prototype Gundam. The equipment is mainly for the Zaku Warrior (Dearka suit), but it can also be equipped on other suits by combining 3mm diameter joints.
First, he is equipped with a Beam Tomahawk and a Gunner Wizard. The Tomahawk is large and powerful.
The Gunner Wizard can be deployed and maintained without replacement.
You can even detach it from the arm to create a bolder pose! The remastered version's opening-style shooting pose is also shown here.
Next up is the Blaze Wizard. With shields on both shoulders, he looks even more powerful.
The sight of the shield and Blade Wizard spread out like wings on all sides is quite heroic.
Of course, Meer Zaku can also be equipped with each wizard and weapon.
The Beam Javelin is also large and impressive, with beam blades extending in three directions at the tip, giving it a three-dimensional look.
Summary
Mobile Suit Gundam MOBILE SUIT ENSEMBLE 18.5. There are many fun units, including the Prototype Gundam, which has a different impression with Meta Rick Silver without destroying the image, the Silver Bullet Suppressor, which actually has four interchangeable arms, two Zaku Warriors that are the same unit but have completely different impressions, an MS weapon set that includes two Wizards that strengthen them, and the Gigan, which is a support unit but boasts uncompromising perfection.
