P-Bandai Gunpla MG 1/100 ZGMF-1017 Mobile Ginn [ Miguel Aiman Custom ] Review
In the latest addition to the MG SEED series, the ZGMF-1017 Mobile Ginn (Miguel Aiman Custom) has been released. Available through Premium Bandai, this kit is priced at 5,390 yen. The package features a monochrome design, while the instruction manual's cover and back are in color, albeit without detailed descriptions of the mobile suit.
Contents and Accessories
The kit includes a variety of accessories to enhance the model's display and functionality. These accessories are a 76mm Heavy Assault Rifle, a Heavy Sword, a Triple Short-Range Missile Launcher, a Shield, and a Spare Magazine. Additionally, it comes with various hands for different poses, including open hands, holding hands, and gun-holding hands. To complete the set, a Stand Joint is also provided for dynamic posing and stability.
Additionally, it comes with foil stickers for the mono-eye and water transfer decals, featuring caution markings, line marks, and Miguel Aiman's personal insignia. A few extra frame parts and part of the heavy sword grip are also included as surplus components.
Design and Build
The Mobile Ginn (Miguel Aiman Custom) is a color variant of the previously released standard Ginn. While the structural design remains the same, the new vivid orange and white color scheme distinguishes it from the regular ZGMF-1017 Mobile Ginn. The kit incorporates some frame parts from the MG Zaku Warrior series, offering a robust and detailed build.
Detailed Features
The head of the Mobile Ginn (Miguel Aiman Custom) is relatively small, maintaining the characteristic detailed design of the MG SEED series. The helmet can be removed to rotate the mono-eye, which is replicated using clear parts. The backpack is highly detailed and removable, allowing for various display options. The thrusters are intricately designed, with parts capable of some movement.
The arms have minimal visible seams, with a front-to-back split in the upper arm, and the wrists feature interchangeable fingers. The legs are sturdy with ample articulation, while the feet are detailed, with no visible hollow parts, and the toes are movable, ensuring excellent stability.
Articulation and Poseability
The kit retains the excellent articulation of the standard version, allowing for dynamic poses. The elbows and shoulders have a wide range of motion, and the backpack can be positioned to avoid interference. The legs are highly articulated, with knees bending up to approximately 170 degrees.
Weaponry and Accessories
The 76mm Heavy Assault Rifle is unchanged in color from the standard version, with some visible seams, and includes a holding hand for stable posing. The newly designed shield is large and detailed, featuring a three-part construction for added depth and attaches securely to the forearm.
The Triple Short-Range Missile Launcher, a reused weapon, features a green warhead and a rotating hard point for customizable positioning, with a grip that can be extended for handheld use. The Heavy Sword is molded in silver, maintaining the thin and sharp design from the standard version. The handle has a slightly complex shape, requiring careful handling.
Summary
The MG Mobile Ginn (Miguel Aiman Custom) offers a visually striking alternative to the standard model, with its bright orange coloration making it stand out. The kit's new shield adds an extra layer of appeal, while the overall high level of detail and thoughtful part separation ensure an enjoyable building experience. This kit is a great addition to any MG SEED collection, providing both aesthetic appeal and functional design.
