P-Bandai Gunpla action figure ROBOT魂 Spirits <SIDE MS> XVX-016RN Gundam Aerial Rebuild ver. ANIME [ Quiet Zero ] Review
The overall design of this figure shares the same mold as the standard Aerial Rebuild version. The color scheme aims to capture the final battle's image, and it appears that this version's blue hues are closer to those seen in the show.
Head Unit
The head sculpt remains impressive, maintaining the quality seen in the previous versions. Notably, there were no issues with the antenna attachment, which was a problem with the standard Rebuild version that required replacement parts. This time, the antenna is correctly installed from the start. As usual, the eyes feature metallic paint, and the detailed coloring is precise.
Body Parts and Color Changes
Significant changes in the blue tones of the figure are noted, with a bluer tint to the white parts as well, aligning more closely with the show's depiction. The Shell Units remain interchangeable like the standard version, with the default color being black.
- Torso and Waist Area: Consistent with the standard version.
- Arms and Legs: Unchanged from the standard model; the primary difference is the color.
- Backpack: Features movable upper and lower parts, and the yellow fins on top are also articulated.
Accessories and Options
Gund-Bit Display Set comes with a Quiet Zero-themed base set. Shell Units can be swapped to create the Bit On Form, similar to the standard version. This time, only white Shell Units are included, unlike the previous versions, which offered both red and blue.
Beam Rifle design remains unchanged, and a long barrel for the rifle is also included. The rifle can be mounted on the backpack, and various bits can be attached to form the Gund-Bit Rifle.
Special Features
- Ericht Figure: A clear Ericht figure is included, symbolizing the final battle. It can be mounted on the shoulder of the Aerial using a peg, though its small size makes it somewhat difficult to handle.
- Beam Saber Spark Effect: This is a color variant of the effect parts included with previous figures, allowing the insertion of two sabers.
- Quiet Zero-Themed Base: A completely new base designed to display the Aerial and Gund-Bits in a floating formation. The base is mirrored and shaped to resemble the interior of Quiet Zero, enhancing the display aesthetics.
Comparisons with the Standard Version
While the new version's color scheme aligns more closely with the show, it lacks certain parts like the red Shell Unit, making it not a complete upgrade. However, the addition of the Quiet Zero-themed base, the Ericht figure, and new effect parts provides a different way to display the figure.
Summary
This figure provides a fresh way to enjoy the Aerial Rebuild model, despite its quick release following the standard version. The ability to display it as either Suletta's or Ericht's machine is a nice touch, and overall, I am quite satisfied with this variant.
