The HG 1/144 Uraven Calibarn, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @TAT013, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

As an entry for the Main Mobile Suit Competition, a Calibarn model has been created. As the name might suggest, it is a mixed-build project combining elements of the Uraven Gundam. The concept is based on the theme of "The Witch of Uranus."

This is a luxurious creation that utilizes two protagonist mobile suits from Reiwa-era Gundam anime. Please enjoy the showcase to the very end!

Score Gundam

The build starts with the Core Gundam, modified to a Mercury-style specification. Key parts such as the arms and toes for connecting to the Planet System are retained, while the head and exterior have been swapped with those of Calibarn.

Uranus GUND Armor

The Uranus Armor integrates the outer shell, main cannon, and flight unit, giving it the weighty feel of a mobile armor. The simplicity of attaching such components highlights the brilliance of the Planet System.

Sub-Flight System Mode

What could be called the "Sub-Flight System Mode" appears to simply stack excessive weaponry, but it still functions as intended.

Combined Form

Finally, here is the highly anticipated docked appearance. The goal was to enhance the overall bulk with the armor, but there were challenges in achieving compatibility between the Mercury kit and the Core Gundam parts, requiring significant effort to make everything fit cohesively.

Mounted Gunbits

The gunbits are mounted across various sections. However, the strong visual emphasis on the armor unfortunately diminishes their overall impact.

Weaponry

The primary weapon is the Variable Shoot Rifle U7, a long-range sniper rifle powered by the GUND format. The gunbits from Calibarn also function as sensor bits, much like those of Uraven. This design provides them with pinpoint targeting capabilities, described as akin to a witch's hand that can track and strike from any location.

Overall Build Process

The detailing focused on enhancements using plastic plates. While this sacrifices the sleek profile of Calibarn, it was a deliberate choice to pursue a more rugged appearance. Consequently, posing the model remains a significant challenge.

Paintwork

The color scheme is based on Calibarn, with white as the primary color. The armor sections feature a prism-like blue-black finish, accented sparingly with red and orange. Though the goal was to replicate Calibarn’s vivid glowing effect, this wasn’t achieved in this build, leaving the usual “beacon” effect instead.

Lastly, the final pose captures a heroic stance, with the rifle raised in a classic Calibarn-inspired style, despite limited articulation.
