P-Bandai ROBOT魂 Spirits <SIDE MS> MS-06V Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep) Ver. A.N.I.M.E. from Mobile Suit Gundam MSV
Here’s a review of the ROBOT魂 MS-06V Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep) Ver. A.N.I.M.E. This model is based on the previously released Green Makaku, with new designs for the arms, tank sections, and backpack, giving it a fresh and unique appearance.
Full Body Overview
The Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep) maintains the classic silhouette, but with noticeable changes in detail. The overall body design takes inspiration from the Green Makaku, but with new elements like the arms and tank section. The tank parts and backpack have been reimagined to enhance its aesthetic.
Rear View and Details
From the back, the Zaku Tank features a cassette-style tank, and it comes with a cargo deck option just like the Green Makaku. The structure of the back is updated, offering a more dynamic look.
Front View and Color Scheme
True to its name, the Sand Sheep comes in a sand-colored tone. This muted color gives it a subtle, realistic feel and the paint job adds to the texture quality. The sand color contrasts nicely with the details and brings out the strength of the model.
Side View and Articulation
Similar to the Green Makaku, the crawler sections are articulated and can move, adding to the dynamic nature of the figure. The ability to adjust the position of the crawler parts enhances the toy’s playability and visual appeal.
Face and Head Design
The head is a simple, classic Zaku design, similar to that of the Green Makaku, with a recognizable "Zaku" face. The mono-eye is painted in metallic hues and can move side to side by opening the top cover, maintaining the signature look from the original series.
Body and Markings
The body’s overall structure remains unchanged, with minor markings for authenticity. Compared to the Green Makaku, the markings are less dense, providing a cleaner, more refined look.
Waist and Shoulder Sections
The shoulder section retains the same design as the Green Makaku, but the arms have been redesigned. The wrists now feature simpler manipulator hands. These hands are poseable, allowing for more expressive action.
Tank Section
The tank portion has a similar design but with some updates. The front now features a machine gun, and the lights and side details have been altered. The machine gun can shift left and right by about 1mm, adding to the model’s ability to shift positions for different display options.
Backpack
The backpack is newly designed and functions as a cassette-style tank. It also comes with multiple optional units for added versatility.
Optional Units
- Cargo Deck Unit: Used for transportation, this unit has no specific gimmicks but adds utility to the model.
- Crane Unit: This is identical to the one that came with the Green Makaku and features movable parts.
- Cannon Unit: This unit, intended for the Zaku Cannon, has a moving cannon barrel that can adjust up and down.
Articulation and Movement
The Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep) is highly articulated, similar to the Green Makaku. The waist can rotate, and the figure can achieve a forward-leaning pose. The neck can also extend, providing a variety of display options.
Unit Exchanges for Different Looks
The model includes interchangeable units, such as the crane and cannon units, which allow for different configurations. You can even pose the manipulator hands to grab the cannon barrel for added realism.
Cargo Deck Unit and Cross-Model Compatibility
The cargo deck unit allows you to create work scenes by combining it with other models. This creates more opportunities for customization and dynamic displays, which adds a lot of play value to the model.
Summary
The ROBOT魂 Zaku Tank (Sand Sheep) Ver. A.N.I.M.E. is a fantastic addition to the Mobile Suit Gundam MSV series. While it shares much of its design with the Green Makaku, the new elements—like the arms, tank section, and backpack—along with the new color scheme, make it a standout. The inclusion of interchangeable backpack units enhances its playability, and the figure maintains a high level of articulation, offering great display and posing options. The MSV series continues to evolve, and we’re excited to see what comes next, especially with upcoming variants like the Big Zam and new color schemes based on the Solomon Campaign.
