The BB Senshi series has released a special repackage set that combines various previously launched kits. This time, the Mobile Suit Gundam Zeon Principality Army MS Set has hit the shelves, priced at 3,520 yen. This set includes three kits:

BB Senshi 218: Zaku II F-Type (released in 2001)
BB Senshi 231: Zaku II S-Type (released in 2002)
BB Senshi 238: Gogg, Acguy & Zock (released in 2002)

Now, let's take a closer look at the two Zaku models before moving on to the aquatic mobile suits.

Zaku II F-Type & Zaku II S-Type Review

Weapons & Accessories

Both Zaku models come with standard weapons: the Zaku Machine Gun, Zaku Bazooka, and Heat Hawk. However, the S-Type includes an exclusive Beam Bazooka, commonly used by Char’s Rick Dom. There are no excess parts included.

Stickers & Color Separation

The kit provides foil stickers for the mono-eye, Zeon emblem, and Char’s personal mark. As these kits originate from the early 2000s, their proportions are around 2.5 heads tall, giving them a nostalgic feel. The build remains simple and easy to assemble, much like modern BB Senshi sets.

Structural Differences

Despite being different variants, the S-Type and F-Type share most of their parts. Typically, S-Type Zakus feature larger backpack thrusters and additional leg thrusters, but in this case, the only differences are the antenna and the larger spike armor on the shoulders. This method of differentiation is quite rare.

Articulation & Build

The joints use polycaps (PC-123), and ABS plastic is not used. The mobile suit’s color scheme is well-represented with molded parts, though minor areas like the wrists, elbows, and parts of the backpack require painting.

Head: The mono-eye slit is thick, and the overall design is well-deformed. The mono-eye itself isn’t pre-colored and must be recreated with stickers. The helmet is molded in two halves, resulting in a seam line at the center.
Torso: The backpack is designed with mechanical details but comes in a single gray color, requiring painting. The power pipes are made of hard plastic, and the waist is rotatable.
Arms: The shield is a single piece, but its thickness prevents it from feeling too simple. The elbow and fingers lack color separation, but the elbow can bend slightly. The parts use a "monaka" structure, so seam lines are visible.
Shoulders: The S-Type’s shoulder spike armor is noticeably larger.
Legs: The hip joint is ball-jointed, allowing only basic movement. The thighs and shins are not fully sculpted, limiting articulation. The soles feature molded details but also have noticeable hollow areas.

Weapon Details

Zaku Machine Gun: Consists of two parts: the main body and the removable drum magazine, which can be attached to the waist. The scope details are simplified, and one side is mostly hollow.
Zaku Bazooka: A two-piece construction with a visible seam line, but it has adequate thickness.
Heat Hawk: A single-piece weapon with a large hollow section on one side. It comes in purple, requiring full painting to achieve the red-hot effect.
Beam Bazooka: Exclusive to the S-Type, featuring a two-piece "monaka" structure but successfully recreating its large appearance.

Overall, despite the simple articulation, the mono-eye and elbow movement allow for expressive poses. The deformed proportions feel nostalgic and charming.

Gogg, Acguy & Zock Review

Moving on to the aquatic mobile suits, this set includes BB Senshi 238, which originally bundled Gogg, Acguy, and Zock together. These three amphibious MS models each come with their own distinct features and accessories.

Accessories & Stickers

The kit includes an alternate arm for Gogg (retracted mode) and an extended Iron Nail right hand for Acguy, along with a flexible joint extension part. Each suit comes with its respective mono-eye sticker, and Gogg's knee area has a dedicated foil sticker.

Gogg Review

Gogg maintains its iconic egg-shaped torso and massive Iron Nails. The kit’s low-head ratio ensures it matches well with Zakus in scale. The joints use polycaps, including PC-15 and PC-101, with some ABS components. The Mega Particle Cannons are color-separated, but details like the torpedo launchers, knee armor, and backpack thrusters require painting.

Head & Torso: Features a single gray-colored backpack with minimal color separation.
Arms & Legs: The arm units allow for a simple transformation into underwater cruise mode via part swapping.

Acguy Review

Acguy naturally lends itself to SD proportions due to its already round design, making it look even more adorable. The overall sculpt retains the charm of the original, and it features basic mechanical details.

Head: Unlike Gogg, Acguy’s head is a separate piece, allowing it to rotate.
Torso: The backpack is separately molded but lacks internal thruster details.
Arms: The right arm can be swapped to display extended Iron Nails, while the left forearm features missile pod details. However, articulation is limited, and certain poses like "ceiling crawling" cannot be achieved.
Legs: The back of the legs has large hollow sections, and the circular details on the soles are poorly defined.

Zock Review

Zock’s vibrant green color and symmetrical front-back design are faithfully recreated. Among the three, it has the least exaggerated SD proportions, but the large mono-eye gives it a cute look. The model maintains its massive size compared to the others.

Head & Torso: The head is integrated into the torso and cannot move. However, the "Phonon Maser Cannon" on top can rotate, giving the illusion of mono-eye movement.
Arms: The Iron Nail claws are individually movable at the base, but only rotate instead of fully articulating.
Legs: The unique flattened legs have a front-back seam line but retain detailed engravings on the soles.

Articulation & Poseability

All three suits rely on ball joints for basic movement, but flexibility remains limited. Gogg’s arms swap out for a streamlined underwater form. Acguy’s Iron Nail extends via part swapping, though articulation is restricted. Zock’s Phonon Maser Cannon rotation is a highlight, simulating the mono-eye movement.

Summary

Despite their simplistic builds and limited articulation, these kits capture the unique characteristics of each mobile suit. The mono-eye movement, extended arm features, and part-swapping transformations provide enjoyable display options. However, due to the lack of stand holes, additional support is needed for dynamic posing.
