P-Bandai action figure Gunpla FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SEED FREEDOM REVIVE ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam Review
The FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SEED FREEDOM REVIVE Mighty set brings back Strike Freedom Gundam Ni-Shiki and Proud Defender, previously released in CONVERGE #25, as a REVIVE edition. This special set reintroduces the figures with updated paint applications, giving them a distinct premium look.
Design & Color Changes
While the sculpt remains identical to the #25 release, the REVIVE edition features pearl white paint for the white sections, significantly altering its color tone and texture. The non-white parts also have slight color variations, though they are not finished in pearl paint.
As with the original release, a pair of solid clenched fists is included.
- Proud Defender
- The sculpt remains unchanged.
- The white parts are now finished in pearl white, matching the updated Strike Freedom Ni-Shiki.
- Side view & base design remain the same.
- Wing deployment mechanism is unchanged.
Mighty Strike Freedom Mode
When combined, the REVIVE version of Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam maintains a unified color scheme between Strike Freedom Ni-Shiki and Proud Defender, just like the #25 version.
The expanded wings create an impressive, premium visual presence, making this set feel more special.
The anti-ship sword, Futsunomitama, is included, but beam sabers are not, meaning dual-wielding is not possible.
Comparison with #25 Mighty Strike Freedom
Drastic difference in color and finish: The REVIVE edition has a completely different feel due to its pearl-painted white sections.
Price difference:
- #25 set price: ¥693 × 2 = ¥1,386
- REVIVE edition price: ¥2,750 (almost double)
Summary
This REVIVE edition is the second set in the CONVERGE SEED FREEDOM re-release series. While I skipped the first set (Rising Freedom & Immortal Justice) since it only featured minor shoulder markings, the MIGHTY set caught my interest due to its entirely new paint job.
Both Strike Freedom Ni-Shiki and Proud Defender look significantly different, giving them a special edition feel. With their already great sculpt, the higher price feels justified, and overall, this is a highly satisfying release.
Since the original #25 Mighty Strike Freedom was particularly hard to find, many fans may have preferred a direct reissue. However, the REVIVE edition’s premium paint job makes it a great alternative, making it highly recommended for both those who missed out on #25 and those looking for an upgraded version.
