The Action Base 7 is known for its simplicity and versatility, compatible with a wide range of HG-class kits. This time, a special GQuuuuuuX edition has been released, so we tried it out. The price is 1,540 yen.

As with other Action Base models, this version comes as a set of two. It features a user-friendly clear color and can be assembled with just a nipper, no screws needed.

The base structure remains unchanged, supporting both standard 3mm peg joints and thick joint pins like those used in traditional Action Bases. Unlike Action Base 1, it features a stepless adjustment system, allowing precise positioning without sudden unlocking. Even without screws, it offers strong holding power, securely supporting a variety of kits.

The runners for the base are shared with standard versions, with no new parts. Clips are included as usual.

Usage Tip: While the holding power is impressive, aggressive adjustments can cause the ring joint at the tip to crack. We've experienced this during photography sessions — once cracked, the part becomes unusable unless glued. It's best to move the tip slowly and carefully.

Included Stickers

This edition comes with character stickers to place on the base — featuring “Machu,” “Nyan,” “Shuuji,” and “Char.” You can choose your favorite two to apply.

The stickers are thick and sturdy, resistant to wrinkling or peeling. With a plastic-like texture, they also seem highly resistant to abrasion and dirt.

Since the base is the same as regular Action Base 7, you can also apply the stickers to an existing one if you already own it.

Applying the Stickers

There are four pre-cut circular holes in the base. For visual aesthetics, it's better to keep only the center one open for the stand peg. In our case, we first peeled off the left circle sticker to align the position, then reattached it after setup.

Some character stickers like “Shuuji” and “Nyan” have holes in the design, but covering the extra circles helps maintain a clean appearance.

Finished Appearance

The result looks clean and fun with a unified pop design. The inclusion of Char in this lineup adds an amusing touch.

Combining it with the HG GQuuuuuuX makes for a cohesive display — especially fitting when paired with pilot figures or upcoming Figure-rise releases.

It would’ve been nice to have an angled attachment for better visibility of the illustrations on the base.

Compatibility Notes

The Char base represents the GQuuuuuuX version of Char, which differs slightly from the classic portrayal. Still, it works fine with other Char-exclusive mobile suits. Do note, however, that the base is not suitable for larger kits like those in the MG scale.

Summary

The Action Base 7 [Clear Color] GQuuuuuuX Sticker Set is very similar to the Mirror Sticker version. You apply character stickers on a standard Action Base 7 base, resulting in a clean and durable finish. It includes four character stickers and two clear bases — both compatible with other Action Base 7 parts.

At present, only a few kits like Machu and GQuuuuuuX pair perfectly with this base, but as more MS models get released, this will become a great choice for displaying both model kits and figures like Figure-rise.
