This custom interpretation of the GAT-333 Raider presents a fully reimagined standard-specification version, built on the Full Mechanics Raider kit and extensively modified to reflect the machine’s refined role and equipment. The most distinctive feature of this build is the fully scratch-built set of auxiliary wings, accompanied by additional weapons crafted to support the new configuration. The result is a dramatic expansion of the Raider’s silhouette and combat presence.

The builder began by identifying areas of the base kit that didn’t align with the desired standard-spec look. The rounded arm units were replaced with Stormbringer components, giving the mobile suit a more angular, tactical appearance. Some supplementary parts were scratch-built to ensure seamless integration.

On the legs, removing the original thrusters left noticeable gaps. These were resolved through careful detailing using plastic plates and supplemental mechanical textures. The central claw weapon was also reshaped to accurately match the intended standard-spec form.

All major armaments—including the highlight auxiliary wings—were scratch-built. The two 52 mm machine-gun pods were reproduced using modified 3D-printing data originally created during a 1/100 Gunbarrel Dagger project. What had once been discarded data was refined and brought back for use, demonstrating an efficient and creative workflow.

The Raider’s Mobile Armor transformation includes a large wing deployment. To represent this faithfully, the extended wing units were designed as separate, fully articulated components. The resulting span reaches an impressive 55 cm, giving the model a commanding presence in both display and photography.

Because the claws must grasp the auxiliary wings in Mobile Suit mode, the assembly must be elevated. A dedicated display base was scratch-built from plastic rods and plates. Neodymium magnets placed between the underside of the main wing assembly and the custom stand ensure a stable connection. This structure was engineered specifically to prevent the Raider from toppling during exhibitions—an important consideration for event displays.

The build was finished with a carefully selected paint set, applied to maintain consistency across the expanded surface area. For the long-form decals on the wings, collaboration decals from MYK Design Decals and RAYVE_2024 were used. Although long decals can be difficult to apply cleanly, a technique recommended by Shuo—removing excess water with a brush—proved effective, resulting in smooth, clean adhesion across the full length.

This GAT-333 Raider Standard Specification is a bold and meticulously engineered reinterpretation. With scratch-built auxiliary wings, precision detailing, structural adjustments, and practical display considerations, the project elevates the Raider into a machine that feels cohesive, powerful, and purpose-driven. It stands as an impressive example of custom mechanical design and thoughtful craftsmanship.
