The MG 1/100 ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam has been completed after more than a year of development, with extensive modifications aimed at recreating the overwhelming presence of the Freedom Gundam during the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny era.

Rather than simply upgrading the kit with additional details, this build focuses on reshaping the entire machine to match the builder’s ideal image of Freedom: powerful, sharp, and dominant.

The biggest structural change is the lower body. Since the original MG 2.0 proportions felt too heavily stylized in the legs, the builder rebuilt the lower half using the MG Impulse Gundam as a foundation, creating a slimmer and more balanced silhouette closer to the desired interpretation.

The wing system was also heavily modified:

Wing connection angles were adjusted
Additional parts from another kit were used for extension work
The wing shape was sharpened for a more aggressive High-MAT form

Because the expanded wings created weight issues, the internal frame and ankle areas were reinforced to allow the Freedom to stand without support.

Balaena plasma beam cannons rebuilt by modifying the original shapes
Beam rifle cover recreated from scratch

The paint direction was also carefully controlled. Instead of the typical warmer tones often used for caution markings, the builder created custom blue-toned decals to maintain a colder, unified color scheme. The main white armor uses a steel-like white tone, reinforcing the mechanical and premium feel.

The comparison with the original kit shows that the changes are not immediately obvious from individual parts, but the overall silhouette and balance are significantly transformed.
