The RX-78-5 Gundam Unit 4 (aka G04) is a mobile suit from Kunio Okawara's original M-MSV design series, designed as the 4th Gundam. The design was updated to closely match the design for the video game Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters In Space and the manga Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Space, To the End of a Flash. The RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 was piloted by Luce Cassel of the Earth Federation Forces.

Bandai Spirits through Premium Bandai continues the Mobile Suit Gundam Gaiden series model kit with the release of the 4th Gundam Unit, RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 G04. It has the same mold as Gundam unit 5, with many new additions to chest and weapon parts taken from the HGUC Pale Rider Space Unit.

This model kit is also part of the ACE Pilot Log series and is the 24th entry for the ACE Pilot Log series release. The HGUC RX-78-4 Gundam Unit 4 "G04" is equipped with color separation to match the G04 unit. The RX-78-4 Gundam G04 Model Kit is also equipped with additional parts to create Normal Mode and Booster Mode [Bst].
