RX-78-5 Gundam Unit 5 [G05] (ガンダム5号機) is a mobile suit from Kunio Okawara's original M-MSV design series, which was designed as the 5th Gundam. 

The design is straightforward for the video game Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters In Space as well as the manga Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: Space, To the End of a Flash. The RX-78-5 Gundam Unit 5 was piloted by Ford Romfellow of the Earth Federation Forces.

Bandai Spirits through Premium Bandai continues the Mobile Suit Gundam Gaiden series model kit with the release of the 5th Gundam Unit, RX-78-5 Gundam Unit 5 G05. It has the same mold as the previously released Gundam 4 units, with many new additions to the chest and weapon parts taken from the HGUC Pale Rider Space Unit.

This model kit is also part of the ACE Pilot Log series and is the 25th entry for the ACE Pilot Log series release. HGUC RX-78-5 Gundam The unit 5 "G05" is equipped with color separation that matches the unit G05. Model Kit RX-78-5 Gundam G05 is also equipped with additional parts to create Normal Mode and Booster Mode [Bst].
