P-Bandai Gunpla HGTWFM 1/144 CCP-068 Heingra Review
The HG CCP-068 Heingra model kit, which I received along with the previously introduced Lubris mass production prototype model, is now available for order on Premium Bandai for 1,980 yen. The packaging is simple, with monochromatic artwork, but the manual includes both a detailed description of the unit and full-color illustrations. Included accessories are a beam rifle, a shield, and two saber blades. The only stickers provided are foil stickers for the cameras and sensors.
Parts and Customization
Due to the reuse of parts from the mass-market Heindree Sturm kit, there are surplus parts such as rifles, backpacks, heads, and parts of the shield. While the rifle and backpack can be used as optional parts, the helmet parts cannot be used to assemble the CFP-010 Heindree Sturm due to the lack of a visor.
Design and Build
The Heingra is part of the HG The Witch from Mercury series and is featured as a mobile suit used by the Grassley Company, appearing in the Prologue and serving in the special forces "Dominicus Unit" alongside the Beguir-Beu. The kit reuses much of the Heindree Sturm’s structure, sharing most parts except for the head and backpack. It has a bold proportion with large shoulders, thick thighs, and slender calves, giving it a distinctive silhouette.
The backpack design is similar to that of the Sturm but includes two saber racks. Consistent with the HG The Witch from Mercury series, the kit does not use polycaps, opting for KPS joints instead. The body color is a subdued brown, and the high fidelity of the color scheme minimizes the need for additional stickers. The brown hue is low in saturation, providing a calm and refined look.
Detailed Features
The head has a rounded crest and a distinctive small antenna, with a different top camera shape. The torso is largely shared with the Heindree Sturm, including a booster attached to the waist. Painting is required for detailed parts like the chest. The weaponry differs in the backpack, where the Heingra has dual sabers, unlike the beam cannon-equipped Heindree Sturm. The backpack and waist have customization-friendly holes for mounting additional parts.
Arm and Leg Design
The arms feature large shoulder armor with separate parts for the thrusters, and some duct areas require black paint. The booster units are movable, and the simple hip joint design avoids a cluttered look thanks to detailed armor undersides. The legs remain unchanged from other models, maintaining the Grassley Company’s signature silhouette.
Weapons and Accessories
The Heingra’s equipment includes a beam rifle with an angular design and a large shield. The rifle lacks a foregrip, and the sensor part is covered with a sticker. The shield, significantly larger than the Heindree Sturm's, attaches either by gripping or using a forearm joint. The shield’s interior has detailed molding, but the beam cannon barrel needs painting due to the lack of color separation. The round grip can rotate within the wrist but still allows for stable attachment.
Comparisons and Customization Options
When equipped with weapons, the Heingra presents a standard rifle and shield configuration. Its movement range matches that of the CFP-010 Heindree series. The large shield can interfere with the oversized shoulders, a common issue with the model. Compared to the Beguir-Beu, the Heingra’s subdued color scheme contrasts sharply with the former's striking white and purple colors.
Summary
The Heingra, featured in the Prologue and now released as a kit, shares much of its construction with the CFP-010 Heindree Sturm. Differences lie mainly in the head and backpack weaponry, providing a solid build with good articulation and accurate color separation. The surplus parts allow for minor customizations, adding to the play value. Overall, the Heingra is a well-crafted kit that stays true to the HG The Witch from Mercury series' standards, offering a satisfying building and posing experience.
The HG CCP-068 Heingra is a well-balanced and detailed model kit. While it reuses many parts from the Heindree Sturm, the subtle differences and additional customization options make it a versatile and enjoyable kit for fans and builders alike. The color scheme and design features highlight the kit’s distinctiveness, ensuring it stands out in any collection.
