P-Bandai action figure Gunpla METAL ROBOT魂 Spirits <SIDE MS> Zeus Silhouette Review
The set includes the Zeus Silhouette main body, various units and arms, and a combination joint for the ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam. A complete display stand is also provided.
Single Unit Mode
In its single unit form, the Zeus Silhouette is completed by attaching the nose, missile units, cannon arms, body unit, and gun barrel unit to the main body, and spreading the wings. The unit measures approximately 450mm in length, making it quite large. The detailing is intricate, with precise markings that enhance its sense of precision.
Appearance and Build Quality
As expected from a METAL ROBOT Spirits figure, the entire unit is painted, which adds to its quality feel. The connections are stable thanks to a dedicated display joint, although the three rear gun barrels tend to detach easily.
Missile and Leg Units
The missile units on both sides feature hatches that can be opened through part swapping. The leg units follow the same design, with two hatches at the front and side.
Combining with Destiny Gundam Spec II
When combining with the ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam Spec II, remove the MMI-714 Arondight Beam Sword and beam cannon. The official manual provides detailed instructions, but the key steps involve attaching the MS display joint to the main body. Unfortunately, this joint is exclusive to the Destiny Gundam, making it incompatible with the Akatsuki.
Transformation and Assembly
The leg units are detached and transformed before being attached to the lower legs of the main body. The missile units and gun barrel units are connected to the back of the Destiny Gundam's backpack. The cannon arms and shield are then attached to the linear cannon side, with the separated gun barrel reattached to the cannon's end.
The Zeus Silhouette's body unit firmly connects to the chest, resulting in a significant change in appearance. The linear cannon, which measures around 40cm, can be held securely using the front and rear grips, although adjusting the angle can be tricky.
Display Options and Final Thoughts
The figure can be displayed either floating or standing on its own, with missile hatches open for added effect. The wings on the back are ball-jointed and can be positioned accordingly. The body unit, attached to the waist, locks the waist and torso in place, limiting rotation during the combination.
With a remarkable overall length of 450mm in its single unit form, the Zeus Silhouette boasts an imposing presence. The combination with the Destiny Gundam, while not simple, is stable and allows for dynamic display options. The only downside is the inability to combine with the Akatsuki, but the sheer size and detail of the figure make up for this limitation.
Summary
The METAL ROBOT Tamashii Zeus Silhouette offers a high level of satisfaction with its impressive size, intricate detailing, and stability during display, despite the lack of compatibility with the Akatsuki.
