MG 1/100 F80 Gunraid, Premium Bandai

MG 1/100 F80 Gunraid from Mobile Suit Gundam F90 is now available as assembly plastic model kit Gunpla MG: Master Grade Premium Bandai.

The F80 Gunraid, a mass-produced prototype from SNRI’s Formula Project, joins the MG lineup with newly molded parts. Developed to simplify production of the F90 Gundam F90, it removed experimental features while retaining 11 hardpoints and using standardized components from the F70 Cannon Gundam. 

This ensured compatibility with EFF mobile suits like the RGM-109 Heavygun and F71 G Cannon, allowing the F80 to use F90 mission packs or the F70’s backpack when needed. However, cost-cutting reduced its mobility and increased weight, while the lack of a holo-cube computer made mission pack swaps impractical. Ultimately, only 16 units were produced, assigned to ECOAS, the EFF Marine Corps, and private military contractors.  

The F80 Gunraid appears in Mobile Suit Gundam F90 Cluster with a Triple Machine Cannon-equipped F70-type backpack. Its Death Guns variant, used by a mercenary squad, featured an enhanced OS for higher performance. The MG model includes a short beam rifle, beam bazooka, dual beam sabers, a shield, a Triple Machine Cannon with rotating barrels, and mission pack compatibility. 

Newly molded parts ensure sharp detailing, while water transfer decals add realism. Accessories include spare beam sabers, a detachable energy pack, and mission pack replacement parts for customization.
