The MG 1/100 Gundam Mk-II [ Banagher Links Custom ], masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @yasutatsu, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

yasutatsu modified the MG Gundam Mk-II Ver.2.0 to replicate the Banagher machine featured in the manga "Gundam UC episode EX2: Return of the Lion."

As usual, yasutatsu began by partially painting the frame and dark-colored parts of the backpack and bazooka. The rest of the exterior received a complete paint job, accompanied by the application of numerous water transfer decals and a matte top coat. Additionally, Rapi tape was applied to the twin eyes and sensor area, while metal parts were affixed to enhance details.

The original kit had a muscular body type, so yasutatsu made modifications to impart a sleeker appearance. The beam magnum was borrowed from the Unicorn Ver.Ka, and Doven Wolf's right arm was semi-scratch-built using the kit as its core.

Here are some specific modifications I made:

Head

Enlarged by 2mm in the front and back.
Rounded the tip of the eaves and shaved the draft surface on the back to flatten it.
Sharpened the antenna part and reduced the size of the mask based on Gundam Ver.Ka's chin.

Chest

Reduced shoulder width by about 2mm on each side.
Shortened the neck and chest ducts, and increased the size of the block at the base of the shoulder to create a smarter appearance.

Left Arm

Assembled the gray parts upside down to bring the shoulder closer to the body.
Narrowed the shoulder width by about 4 to 5mm.
Lowered and re-glued the duct part on the outside of the shoulder to reduce overhang.
Extended the forearm by 2mm.

Right Arm

Semi-scratch-built using plastic board, Epo putty, and plastic pipe.
Ensured the outer arm cylinder remained static to maintain balance.

Waist

Extended the front skirt by 2mm.

Legs

Trimmed the front slippers by more than 2mm.
Raised the gray part on the top of the foot by 1mm.

Weapons

Used the Beam Magnum from Ver.Ka as is, erasing seams in conspicuous areas.
Made the bazooka from the kit, grooving the seams.

The final result is a heavily armed, smartly modified Mk-II, capturing the essence of the Banagher machine from the manga. Despite some ruggedness in the right arm, I believe it adds character to the aircraft. My next project may involve a 1/144 model, and I'm considering an honest modification of a kit aircraft.
