The HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX: Prototype Ω Psycommu Guided Weapon + Large Assault Booster Equipped, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @shionze, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

Since this is an evolution of that iconic red Gundam, it made sense to create an assault-type variant as a custom build!

The name itself might be a giveaway, but since official sources have already started revealing spoilers, now seems like a good time to showcase this.

Color & Structure

The color scheme follows the usual low-visibility blue, keeping a sleek and tactical appearance.

Since the build can’t stand on its own—which was expected—the booster is mounted on a stand, making it appear as if it’s flying.

Back View & Booster Design

For a long time, the MSG Raging Booster was something that needed the right combination to fit. Due to its distinct truss frame structure, previous attempts to integrate it never quite worked, so it had been shelved—until now.

Inspired by Ikuto Yamashita’s mechanical design aesthetic, which emphasizes exposed frame structures, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to incorporate it.

Bit System & Details

The bits are taken directly from the Gunbarrel Striker, released on the same day as the GQuuuuuuX . Some of the molded orange-yellow color was intentionally left visible, which actually seems to align well with Yamashita’s design philosophy.

That said, the red Gundam’s bits left such a strong impact—it’s hard to ignore them!

Poseability & Adjustments

One issue with this GQuuuuuuX build is that when equipping the shielded arm with a beam rifle, the wrist connector slightly interferes with the shield.

Fortunately, since the wrist rotates independently, it can be adjusted to avoid the obstruction. However, this causes the shield to tilt at an angle.

For better posing flexibility, modifying the shield to allow for one-sided attachment or shaving down the interfering section would help—but in my case, I just settled for a compromise.
