The MGEX 1/100 Rising Freedom, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @riccia_pra, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

The 1/100 MGEX Rising Freedom is complete — a stunning entry for #ISPWC2025.

Based on the MGEX Strike Freedom, this build incorporates a mix of parts, though nearly all of its signature components were designed from scratch in Fusion 360 and produced through 3D printing. Each element was sculpted with a multifaceted structure to complement the angular design language of the MGEX limbs, showcasing the advantages of digital modeling.

For the backpack’s sub-arms, the builder utilized rifles from the Eclipse Gundam, while the nose section was sourced from the Kyrios. Select kit parts were also incorporated for weight reduction, with the legs adapted from the Justice Gundam due to their compatible design.

The frame was carefully repainted after removing the plating, using a tri-color scheme of Cool Light Gunmetal, Warm Light Gunmetal, and Silver to emphasize the mechanical layering of the MGEX frame. The white armor features gradients of Neutral Gray I through III, while the blue tone was custom-mixed using Finishers Genesis Blue with added Magenta for a slightly violet hue. The black sections were finished in Nasca’s Dark Bluish Purple, completing the sophisticated palette.

Although time constraints prevented the transformation into flight mode, the model can still recreate the Shield Boomerang deployment and HiMAT Full Burst configuration.

This project’s theme was chosen to deepen the builder’s understanding of 3D modeling, which began during the earlier MG Chaos build. From data creation and print calibration to surface finishing and support mark cleanup, every stage presented its own challenges. Yet, the results — particularly the successful printing of the wings — proved that persistence pays off. With refined settings and valuable experience gained, this build marks a major step forward in the pursuit of precision and creativity in Gunpla craftsmanship.
