The HG 1/144 Hi-J'Gok, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @ganbasu3, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

During the Kyoto Model Exhibition UC Competition, the builder realized that no photographs had been taken of the completed kit after the event decals were applied. This review revisits the finished model in its updated form.

The concept behind the build revolves around merging elements of the Sinanju with the distinctive silhouette of the Hi-Nu Gundam. These “Hi” components provide an elegant and recognizable profile, while the model’s “nose,” crafted from a tail part, adds an unexpectedly charming touch that softens the overall design.

For the paintwork, the builder relied almost entirely on a German Gray color-modulation set. Although the application followed the general guidelines provided, the builder describes their color-modulation technique as modest and practical rather than highly specialized. By using this set, the challenge of fine color mixing—typically a less enjoyable task—was minimized. The preselected tones allowed the builder to work faster while still achieving smooth gradients and layered depth across the armor surfaces.

The result is a distinctive reinterpretation of the Z’Gok lineage, enhanced with Hi-Nu and Sinanju influences and brought together through efficient, thoughtfully applied color modulation.
