The MG 1/100 Stormbringer (Perfect Fang), masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @6296171051, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

When the builder acquired the MG Gale Raider P.F. kit last year, the intention from the very beginning was to push its appearance and weapon configuration closer to the style of the Perfect Gundam as depicted in the Kyoshiro Maniax line. Instead of assembling the kit straight out of the box, the project became an exploration of redesign, refinement, and reinterpretation.

One of the most significant changes was the reconstruction of the dual rifles. The original high-recognition Impulse head was replaced to achieve a silhouette more aligned with the target design direction. Additional custom elements were introduced across the shoulders, chest, waist, shield, and backpack. Interestingly, none of these parts were completely scratch-built. Every added piece came from existing Gundam components, deliberately mixing and matching them as a self-imposed constraint to heighten the creative challenge.

The color scheme also underwent a complete transformation. The iconic red, white, blue, and yellow palette of the source material was abandoned. To avoid the effort of repeatedly spraying light tones, the builder opted for the deep navy colors associated with Thunderbolt’s RX-78. The paint was applied with a relatively relaxed approach, but after the matte finish was added, the overall visual impression became cohesive and satisfying.

One small but meaningful detail is the “NK” marking, included as a tribute to the original designer, acknowledging the roots from which this reinterpretation draws.

Ironically, after the builder purchased the kit, its market price dropped significantly. Despite that unfortunate timing, the final result stands as a thoughtful and striking custom build that merges homage with personal expression.
