A visit to The Gundam Base led to the purchase of the Rising Freedom Gundam Recirculation Color Version, prompted by the builder’s wife, who immediately singled it out as the best choice. The original release features a bold neon yellow scheme, but this project takes a different direction.

Rather than keeping the factory color, the builder reinterpreted the suit with a more traditional palette. Since Rising Freedom’s primary image is associated with blue tones, the neon yellow was replaced with a custom blue mixed with a touch of white for subtle brightness. The main body was repainted in black blended with gunmetal, creating a darker, more grounded contrast.

During the painting process, there were doubts about whether the colors truly complemented each other. However, once assembled, the combination proved more cohesive than expected. The cooler blue highlights against the subdued metallic black body produce a balanced, modern finish that feels natural for the design.

Although the builder did not initially have a strong attachment to SEED-series mobile suits, completing this kit changed that perception. The final result highlights the strong proportions and sharp styling of Rising Freedom, leaving a more favorable impression than anticipated.
