The HG 1/144 Xi Gundam, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @Maftiy, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

This is a fully painted HG Xi Gundam, completed as the builder’s first post after several years away from the hobby. The project was paused multiple times but ultimately finished in time for the release of The Witch of Circe. Considering the long break, the final result is a satisfying return to Gunpla building.

The Minovsky Flight Units on the shoulders were repositioned higher, inspired by a well-known reference build, giving the silhouette a more dynamic presence. Additional panel lines and plastic details were added across the kit to increase surface density. The chest-mounted antenna detail was removed for a cleaner look, while the wing tips on the chest proved fragile during painting and required repeated repairs.

Color selection caused some uncertainty during the process, but once assembled, the scheme came together cohesively. There was a minor issue caused by mistakenly thinning a water-based glow white paint with acrylic thinner early on, but it was corrected along the way.

For presentation, the finished model was photographed alongside a Hathaway stand purchased at the theater. All photos were taken by a friend, whose careful lighting and composition significantly enhanced the final presentation.

Overall, this build focuses on proportion adjustments, surface detail enhancement, and a complete repaint, resulting in a solid and confident take on the HG Xi Gundam.
