The HG 1/144 Dom Tropen + Flight Unit : Custom, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @Marcy45942770, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

This project reimagines the Dom Tropen with updated proportions and an original flight unit built using 30MM parts.

The torso and ankles were extended to create a more modern silhouette while preserving the Dom’s heavy presence. The neck area was lowered by one step to allow a stronger “chin-down” pose, improving the unit’s stance and expression. The mono-eye was made movable using joint parts for added realism.

Shoulder joints were also modified to improve articulation and overall balance. Even with the increased bulk, the mobile suit maintains stable proportions.

A scratch-built flight pack adds volume and transforms the Dom Tropen into a heavier assault configuration. The mounted machine gun on the unit can deploy, adding mechanical play value. The pack is removable, allowing the model to revert to its standard Dom Tropen form.

The heat saber was painted with fluorescent paint, enabling it to glow under blacklight. A dedicated weapon display further emphasizes the expanded arsenal.

By enlarging an already heavy mobile suit, the builder successfully enhanced its mass and presence without compromising structure or silhouette. The result is a bold reinterpretation that amplifies the Dom Tropen’s weighty character while introducing modern customization elements.
