The HG 1/144 Psycho Machine, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @Katori_13, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

This fully original mobile suit is a custom psycho machine designed exclusively for Newtype pilots. Its fictional development is based on the Project Selene plan, combining technology and data from the Elmeth, Qubeley, Nightingale, Neo Zeong, and Psycho-Frame systems. The concept reflects the Newtype-focused design philosophy of these machines, particularly their use of remote weapons and psycommu technology.

The builder created the machine using a wide range of Gunpla kits, with notable parts from the Nightingale, MG and MGSD Gundam Barbatos frames, and Hashmal binders. The design was intended to occupy the space between a mobile suit and a mobile armor, featuring a distinctive side silhouette shaped like the symbol “<”.

The heavy backpack originally made the model difficult to balance, so the builder replaced the Nightingale’s support structure with an Action Base support to allow the machine to stand independently. Its rifle is based on the Nightingale’s weapon, with an extended barrel and added scope intended to improve power and accuracy. The scope was finished with a 3D metallic sticker from the Customize Material series.

For close combat, beam axes are mounted on both arms in a tonfa-like configuration, allowing the large machine to respond quickly to nearby threats. The axes received a gradient paint finish. A distinctive Psycho Ring mounted on the head enables the machine to control its funnels and unmanned units through brainwave commands without delay.

The accompanying unmanned unit is mounted beneath the backpack and is capable of independent combat. Built from a GQuuuuuuX Zaku base, it carries balanced offensive and defensive equipment to protect itself despite its large size. Its beam saber is deployed from a hidden arm in the shield binder, allowing surprise attacks while its main arm functions as a gatling gun.

Completed as the builder’s first Gunpla project of the year, this unconventional custom demonstrates an extensive all-Gunpla mix and a fully original interpretation of a Newtype-focused psycho machine.
