Metal Robot Damashii [SIDE MS] ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Vidar Review
Although the name is a combination of the two bodies, it has a few things in common with Kimaris and Vidar. The design features a back shield and legs. Although it is written in the instruction manual, the ground surface is small, so it is a little unstable to stand on its own, and it is necessary to pay attention to the paint baldness.
Head Unit
There are some remnants of Kimaris such as outlines, but it is almost different. The sculpt was very sharp and well made. The shape of the top of the head protruding forward like a horn is quite unique. The eyes are painted metallic as usual, and the other parts are painted correctly.
Body Unit
The body is also a little similar to Kimaris, but it is almost different. The abdomen is extremely thin with an exposed frame. Since it is a METAL series, almost everything was painted and the markings were beautiful.
Arms and Legs
The round shoulder armor is common with Kimaris. The legs were quite thick and the color was mainly black similar to Vidar. The shield is connected with a sub arm. The sub-arm can be moved in multiple places, allowing flexible movement as in the play.
The details of the shield are also precise, and in the center is the crest of the Bauduin family. The collar cover can be expanded and the cockpit hatch can be opened. The movement can swing greatly on both the neck and waist, and the shoulders can be raised high.
Elbows and knees can also be bent deeply. The hip joint is a pull-out type that can be moved widely in the front and back and has good grounding. The shoulders can be pulled forward about 30 degrees. The toes can bend back and forth quite a bit.
Weaponry and Accessories set
A set of pedestals. A large spear used as a main weapon. The tip part is rotatable. A special KEP bullet is also included. It can be loaded from behind the spear. By deploying the tip of the shield and inserting the rear part of the KEP bullet, it is possible to connect the shield and the lance.
A sword can be attached to the side skirt in normal times. The handle for this one disassembled immediately, so care must be taken when handling it. drill knee. This can be attached by exchanging the gold ring on the knee. You can also hold it in your hand. As with other Iron-Blooded MS, glint effects are also included. This time it is a method to replace each antenna. The volume is the best, but the total height does not change. Detailing up too much and there are not many features.
Movability and Articulation
Although it looks bulky, it has a very wide range of motion and can be posed flexibly. However, since the spear is quite heavy, assistance was essential when it was protruding. When connected to a shield, it can be exhibited as it protrudes without assistance.
The arm of the shield moves quite flexibly and can be deployed in front of the body as in the play. drill knee. It is also characterized by a variety of weapons. The neck and waist can also be rotated. A fierce battle that unfolds in a place unrelated to the main character.
Summary
Personally, I liked the regular Vidar better, so I didn't have high expectations, but when I looked at the real thing, it had a lot of volume overall, and the modeling was sharp and powerful, and the paint was good. The texture was used differently depending on the part, and it looked good, and the finish was very satisfying. In terms of articulation, many pull-out joints were used, and although it looked bulky, it moved well. The sub-arm that connects the shield was flexible.
