The MG 1/100 Testament Gundam: Custom, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @modzu_23, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

The builder has completed their Testament Gundam as their last piece of 2024. They consider this kit to be the best, dedicating all available time to its modifications and painting.

The builder started by adjusting the overall balance, including the arm length, shoulder position, torso length, and heel position. They made small adjustments to the areas that stood out, aiming for a clean and powerful stance.

Since the theme of the competition was "Best Kit," the builder avoided mixing other kits or creating an entirely original machine. However, they wanted to add an original touch, so they incorporated religious-inspired details that evoked the Testament's theme, including a striking cross-shaped spear.

The builder noted that the large, wide surfaces of the model create a strong and complex silhouette. However, when viewed closely, some areas appeared a bit rough. To refine it, they used references like the Metal Build models and added contemporary-style detail-ups (or downgrades) where needed.

Nearly all the colors were mixed using Gaia Color's base paints. The balance between the main red and dark red was particularly challenging. Inspired by Metal Build's Divine Striker and the Eva Unit 02, they increased the yellow areas for contrast. Weathering was added to give the model a worn, battle-hardened look.

This kit is something the builder creates once every year. For this year’s participation in the Samcon BK, they put their full heart and soul into the build.

The builder ended with the Latin phrase "Si vis pacem, para bellum" ("If you want peace, prepare for war").
