The MG 1/100 Gundam Astraea TYPE-F: Full Dress, masterfully customized by the Gunpla builder @taka33shira33, stands as an exemplary model of unique modification and intricate detailing.

The builder has completed a custom MG 1/100 Gundam Astraea TYPE-F (Full Dress), marking their first finished project of 2025. Rather than focusing on heavy modifications or extensive scratch-building, this time the emphasis was placed on color coordination, detailing, and mixing parts to achieve a refined and cohesive final result.

From the front and rear views, the Astraea's body maintains the original kit's well-balanced proportions, which the builder found to be highly appealing. As such, no major structural changes were made. Instead, the focus was placed on sharpening edges and meticulous surface preparation. From the massive full-weapon set included in the kit, weapons were selectively chosen to emphasize a close-combat aesthetic.

The color scheme was another highlight of the project. Returning to a bold red color theme for the first time in a while, the builder aimed to bring out a deeper, more elegant tone. The base coat used was Oxide Red Surfacer, overlaid with Finisher’s Deep Red, finished with a subtle gloss to retain a seductive sheen. Matte metallic red accents were added as highlights that catch the light just right. Even the inner frame was toned to harmonize with the red outer armor. For added contrast, the GN pistols’ holsters were painted in a military-inspired green.

In terms of silhouette, the goal was to create an “A-line” shape using additional equipment. The inspiration came from the G-Arcane Full Dress from G-Reco, and the builder sought to replicate that concept with Astraea. To achieve this, five Exia shields were provided by a friend (with much gratitude and a touch of humor), and they were combined with parts from the Gunpla Battle Arm Arms option set for a dynamic, layered equipment loadout.
