NXedge Style Ξ Gundam Review

Head Unit

NXedge Style Ξ Gundam is a renewed design in the movie version Hathaway, but it is quite cool with a natural deformation. The antenna is sharp and the painting is accurate. The fact that the ducts are plated is a bit quirky, so people may have different tastes. 

Body Unit

As it is a large machine, Ξ Gundam is slightly larger than usual. Plating is used a lot this time, and it looks more flashy than before. As usual, the molds and other parts have been uniquely arranged to create a precise shape. Minovsky crafts such as the characteristic jinbaori are also precisely modeled. The plating that you can see from some places has a unique atmosphere.

Arms and Legs Unit 

This area is also finely plated, and it was made with a focus on appearance so that it seems that there were many omissions of colors in the past. The stabilizer on the back can move up and down. The joints have been redesigned this time, and the mobility has been greatly improved. The neck is a little bit, but the hips can swing back and forth, the range of movement is wider, and the shoulders have longer joints, making them more flexible than before. The elbows and knees have not changed. The structure of the hip joint is not so different, but the front and rear armor, which has been treated with a soft material, now moves individually, increasing the range of motion, and the ankle joint also extends to improve ground contact. The hip joint looks like this. Until now, the front and rear armor was a non-movable soft material, but this time it has changed to a hard joint connection. 

Weaponry and Accessories

I usually had a stand common to the series, but this time it's gone. Weapon shape is deformed, but the mold etc. are as precise as the main body. Simply plug in the pin to connect the shield. The beam saber is used by pulling it out from the shoulder. The beam blade is painted as usual. With Hi-ν that will appear in the near future. Because it was a large machine, the size was slightly larger. 

Movability and Articulation

As mentioned above, the movement has been improved, so the impression is that it is much easier to move than before. In particular, the range of poses has increased because the hips can move back and forth. Saber pulling sword. Ξ Gundam was originally designed to be difficult to move due to a lot of interference, but there was plenty of room in the shoulder joints, so there was less stress. There is no problem with the rotation of the waist as before. Movement when launching a full-body missile. It looked good even if it was displayed in a quiet pose. 

Summary

When I first saw the real thing, the plating was flashy and a little surprised from the impression of the sample, but once I got used to it, it looked like each part was emitting light during the night battle in the play, and it looked cool, and the main body was modeled. The sharpness and precision that are typical of NXEdge made it quite satisfying. Regarding the movement, it has evolved significantly due to the new joints and some parts, and it is good to be able to add delicate movements that could not be done before, and to increase the range of play. The price is a little high for NXEdge because it is elaborately made, but it is highly recommended for those who want a good looking deformed Ξ Gundam.
