MG 1/100 MS-09 DOM Review

Box-Art

The package art seems to be an upgrade model, and the design respects the version released in 1999. The instruction manual also mentions the development background and aircraft variations by ZIMMAD, and it is a fun finish as a reading material.

Runner

Multicolor molded A runner is a new part. You can check the exterior of the shoulder, which has a one-part structure and no seams, and the exterior of the fuselage, which has been modified in shape.

The B runner, where you can see parts such as the skirt and ankle exterior, is the same type as before. runner with armor lining parts. This is also the same type of runner as before.

The E-runner that makes up the purple exterior. It may be difficult to convey in the photo, but the color of purple has been slightly changed from the conventional kit to make it a calm coloring. F runner is a runner of the same type as the conventional one that constitutes the internal mechanical part. G runner, contains parts for the soles of the feet and Raketen Bazzoka.

Head Unit

The connection of the mono eye is a ball joint type as shown in the photo. This allows you to move freely up, down, left and right. The mono eye is molded in clear pink. Although not used in this review, you can give it a flat impression by attaching a water slide decal for mono-eye.

The exterior is a simple structure of mono eye shield, mono eye shield base, and helmet from the left. Put it on the frame to complete the head. The head is still very cool after more than 20 years.

Body Unit

The range of movement of the arm has been dramatically improved by adding a block that moves flexibly to the base of the shoulder joint.

New mechanical parts are on the back. After completion, it will be invisible on the exterior, but the tension will increase due to the fine detailing.

The vernier on the back can move with a high degree of freedom.

I just installed the exterior on the back. The rack for heat saber attached to the back is openable. After attaching the exterior on the back, place the black block that hits the neck. It was novel that this neck block was a separate part.

The chest is completed when the front exterior and the diffused beam cannon are attached. The lens part of the diffused beam cannon is a clear part.

Next, let's assemble the abdomen. First of all, from the frame part. It is a wonderful model with a lumpy feeling.

There is a pilot figure inside. The abdomen is completed by covering it with the exterior. The cockpit hatch can be opened and closed. When combined with the chest, the torso is complete.

The connection between the chest and abdomen is a ball joint type, so it can be moved with a high degree of freedom, such as by adding a twist. If you look closely, the shape of the exterior has also been reviewed.

Arms Unit

The elbow joint has been brushed up so that no poly parts are used. Details have also been added. There is a frame in the forearm. There is also a movable shaft at the base of the wrist.

The division of the exterior has also been changed. The division of the shoulder sphere block has been changed from vertical to horizontal, making it difficult to see the seams.

The wrist has been changed to an emotion manipulator, allowing for more detailed facial expressions. The range of movement of the elbow joint is also substantial.

Attach the shoulder armor to complete the arm. The black exterior of the shoulder armor, which used to have a seam in the center, is now a one-part molding, eliminating the seam. This is a nice point.

The most notable thing about the upper body block is the addition of a movable block to the base of the shoulders. This allows the arm to be greatly extended forward and upward. It is very effective when holding a giant Bazzoka or heat saber with both hands.

Waist Unit

A swing mechanism is added to the crotch axis. Attach 3 vernier scales to the rear. The base of the vernier is movable. The central vernier is connected to the rear skirt side. Skirt parts. The red lining parts are beautiful.

After attaching the skirt parts and the belly band-shaped exterior, the waist is completed. The structure of the skirt is the same as before, but the excellent design that makes it smooth and smooth is still a wonderful finish.

Legs Unit

A roll axis has been added to the rose-apple, improving the ground contact when standing and the degree of freedom in posing. For convenience of explanation, the roll shaft part of the rose-apple is assembled together with the legs in this review, but in the procedure of the instruction manual, it is assembled together with the waist block.

The block that connects the ankle and the sneaker has also been brushed up to expand the range of motion. By reviewing the block that connects the ankle and the sneaker, the sole of the foot is less likely to float even if the legs are widened.

In addition, it is easier to take movements such as tilting upward from Dom's unique sneak. It is also a feature of Dom that the ankle parts are asymmetrical.

The legs are completed by covering the exterior. By brushing up each part, you can take a bent posture perfectly.

By combining each assembled block, the Dom body is completed.

Weaponry and Accessories

Raketen Bazzoka grip is a new part and has a pin for connecting to the emotion manipulator. Heat saber, MS machine gun, spare magazine, Sturm Faust, there is a pin for the emotion manipulator on the handle of the heat saber. The suspension connection pins for the MS machine gun have also been reviewed.

Sturm Faust, MS machine gun, and spare magazine can be connected by removing the cover on the lumbar side. Giant Bazooka grip has two connection pins with different angles. The pin at the bottom is convenient to use when you want to carry a bazooka on your shoulder.
