REVIEW HG 1/144 EDM-GA-01 Gundam Lfrith UR, Bandai

This is a review of the Bandai plastic model kit Gunpla HG 1/144 EDM-GA-01 Gundam Lfrith UR from Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury.

Bandai HGTWFM 1/144 EDM-GA-01 Gundam Lfrith UR Review

The Gundam Lfrith Ur, a Gundam-type MS provided to the anti-Spacian organization "Dawn of Fold" and piloted by Sophie Plone, is now available in HGTWFM. Although it has the name Lfrith, it has a completely different appearance because most of the exterior and frame are newly manufactured.

Set Contents

It comes with accessories like a beam gatling gun, a palm, and two saber blades only, and there are no surplus parts. As for stickers, each sensor and the inside of the shell unit, as well as a foil sticker that compensates for the black part of the phased array cannon and the red part of the light-emitting part, are attached.

Design

A design that reminds me of Seravee and Raphael from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, such as thick limbs and a head with a chin guard. Of course, the kit is new, and like the other Witch from the Mercury series, polycaps are not used and KPS joints are used.

In addition, the left side of the back is equipped with a characteristic armament called a phased array cannon. The figure without the phased array cannon
Regarding the color scheme of the fuselage, the seals are mostly the shell units and sensors on the head and chest and the light-emitting parts of the phased array cannon.

The color scheme of the main body is almost reproduced with the molding color, and it seems to be enough to compensate for the dark gray of some ducts and concave molds in various places.

However, the main color is green, both in the setting picture and in the play. Although it is a battle in a dark place, it is a darker green than gray. Compared to this, it is a fairly bright blue-gray, so it seems that preferences around here are divided.

The molding color, painting completion drawing, and color recipe are quite bright blue-green, so it seems that there are different tastes in that area.

That are also mostly color-coded. Also, although it has the same Lfrith name, it is impressive that it is a completely different design. I'm also looking forward to the Lfrith Thorn, which has a unique shape like this one.

Head Unit

The head is also quite unusual in shape, with a large chin guard and a helmet with a slight gap. In addition, the light emission of the shell unit on the forehead can be reproduced by attaching a sticker inside. The twin eyes are color-coded even without foil stickers.

Body Unit

Although the torso has a shell unit on the chest, it is not in-mold like the Gundam Aerial. The backpack on the back is very compact, but a large vest is attached to the waist.

The light emission of the shell unit on the chest is reproduced with a sticker, but the internal mold was also reproduced three-dimensionally.

The vernier on the back has solid details on the inside. Since the backpack connection hole is a 2-hole type, many aircraft packs can be diverted without modification. In addition, each armament has a 3mm joint, making it easy to customize.

The phased array cannons are connected by arms and can swing and rotate at their bases. The seams were also detailed. However, parts such as the muzzle will be reproduced with stickers.

Verniers are also attached to the shoulder armor, and the seams are detailed. It is good that the small nozzles on the front and back are also separate parts.

The joints of the wrists are also stepped and detailed, and this time there are two hands. There is also a 3mm joint on the forearm. The hip joint is a simple axis joint. The side armor had a lining, and the rear armor had no lining but a light mold.

Legs Unit

Thick and voluminous legs. The conspicuous parts, such as the knees and calf sides, are opened and color-coded. In addition, the toe can move independently, and the ankle armor can also move.

The toe and heel of the ankle can be moved independently. The soles of the feet should be painted gray on the toes. The claws of the heel have meat removal.

Arms Unit

The arms have a normal joint structure, but the legs have C-shaped joints at the knees and ankles. The latest kit has solid proportions, but the range of motion is good.

The hips can swing back and forth, left and right, and the shoulders can move back and forth and up and down with a combination of BJ and swing joints. The lower body also has a sufficient range of motion around the hip joints, and the toes of the ankles can be rolled to make it look like they are on the ground.

Weaponry and Accessories

Weapons include a beam-gathering gun. As usual, you can use a stand with a 3mm axis. The degree of freedom of the phased array cannon is also high, and the holding power is sufficient.

Although it is a beam-gathering gun, the barrel can, of course, be rotated. It has a shield on one side and a battery tank, so it is quite a large weapon.

The shield and sub-grip are rotatable. Two saber grips are stored behind the shield. Although it is a gatling, the seams are stepped, the barrels of the gatling are not molded together, and the gap between the barrels is firmly open and looks good.

Of course, it was possible to hold both hands without problems. Since the grip rotates, it is easy to make fine adjustments. Gatling can also be equipped on the left arm because the position of the shield and grip can be reversed.

The saber comes with two clear blue blades. You can remove the grip from the gatling and hold it as it is. The phased array cannon can be deployed without replacement. All parts that emit red light will be reproduced with stickers.

Movability and Articulation

There have been no issues with joint retention so far. Gundam Witch from Mercury kits often use C-type joints, but the ones released in the early days were not extremely loose, so durability may be sufficient. The name Lfrith has been inherited, but the design is completely different.
