P-Bandai Gunpla METAL BUILD XM-X1C Crossbone Gundam X1 [ Patchwork ] Review
The entire body of the P-Bandai Gunpla METAL BUILD XM-X1C Crossbone Gundam X1 [Patchwork] is a fusion of the X1 and X3, incorporating spare parts to repair the X1 Skull Heart. This amalgamation results in a model that showcases features borrowed from both aircraft, with the dominance of X3's color scheme.
Head Unit
The head, borrowed from the X1, features a skull sculpted on the forehead. The package includes a head with a mask opening/closing gimmick, although not utilized in this review. Notably, a spare regular antenna is provided, and the face cover opens to reveal a non-movable head.
Body Unit
The fuselage mirrors the X3 in both color and shape, with a slightly darker blue hue. The patched aircraft's coloring is evident, especially in the shoulder armor, which displays different colors on the left and right sides. The arms adopt the X3 color on the right side, while the left shoulder retains an X3 color.
The X-shaped thruster retains its movement, and the capability to transform into a core fighter remains a consistent feature. Additionally, a joint that can be displayed alone is included.
Options and Accessories
The set includes a set of pedestals and various weapons, such as the buster gun, Beam Zamber, and the familiar Scissor Anchor Chain. Notably, there are no large weapons like the Muramasa Blaster in this release. The new addition is the I-field generator effect parts, adding a fresh element to the arsenal.
Articulation and Gimmicks
With no new parts on the main body, the joints and movements remain consistent with previous releases. The numerous armed gimmicks provide versatility, showcasing the builder's creativity in weapon combinations.
Effects and Enhancements
This release introduces the I-field effect, a familiar feature for ROBOT Spirits but making its debut in the METAL BUILD series. The Hook & Scissor Shield, also present in X3, adds dynamic possibilities to the Crossbone Gundam X1.
Summary
While lacking in large weapons, the model compensates with a variety of weapons and accessories. The inclusion of the I-field effect and the attention to detail in painting and markings contribute to a well-crafted and visually appealing model. The familiar movements and articulations, combined with the unique blend of X1 and X3 elements, make this release a noteworthy addition to the METAL BUILD series.
