This is a review of the METAL BUILD Gundam Dynames Saga. The figure is based on the Dynames and Repair 3 models, with newly sculpted parts for the head, waist, and left knee. One of the standout features is the asymmetrical color scheme, where the upper and lower halves have different colors on the left and right sides.

Head and Face

The head design connects this model to the Cherudim Saga, featuring a large gun camera on the forehead and a distinctive antenna on the left side, which differs from the original Dynames. The metallic paint on the eyes is as sharp and detailed as ever, but unfortunately, there was a visible scratch on the red part of the chin, which was a letdown.

The gun camera on the forehead can be lowered, just like in the Dynames. The camera is made of clear parts, allowing a glimpse of the internal details, enhancing its visual appeal.

Body and Armor

The chest design is identical to Dynames, though the color differs. The left side resembles Dynames, while the right is colored more like Repair 3. The waist is asymmetrical, with a missile unit on the right side, which can be deployed. The chest armor can also open, adding to the dynamic look of the figure.

Arms and Legs

The arms are the same as those on Dynames, while the left knee is a newly sculpted part based on Astraea II. The color scheme on the arms and legs is also asymmetrical, giving the model a unique and bold look. Shoulder markings are similarly asymmetrical, and the front part of the shoulder armor can open, a feature seen in other Dynames models.

The missile hatch on the right knee can open, and the knee parts are interchangeable, allowing for different configurations.

Back and Thrusters

The rear thruster unit is the same as that found on Repair 3, and it retains the same functionality. The base can move slightly up, down, left, and right, while opening the cover reveals the thrusters inside. The back also houses beam sabers, which can be easily accessed from the sides.

Weapons and Accessories

The set includes various accessories, such as stands and weapons. The main firearms, the GN Assault Carbine and GN Submachine Gun, are newly sculpted and based on those used by Cherudim Saga. Both guns have movable side grips, and the magazines are removable. You can swap parts to make the guns usable in either the right or left hand.

A custom holder allows for the carbine to be mounted on the shoulder, and it can also be attached to the side armor or rear thruster unit. The GN Small Shield can be mounted on the shoulder, and its design is similar to Dynames. However, it doesn’t feature the same folding gimmick as Dynames' full shield.

Special Features and Customization

A Repair Conversion Shield is included, reminiscent of Dynames' large GN Full Shield. Unlike Dynames, this shield does not open in the center, but it features three detachable clear panels.

Additional parts are provided to mount the GN Submachine Gun on the left knee, and the set also comes with connectors for GN Arms, allowing it to dock with the separately sold GN Arms Sefer unit.

Summary

The METAL BUILD Gundam Dynames Saga offers a bold, unique take on the Dynames line. Its asymmetrical color scheme may divide opinions, but the combination of Dynames' body with Cherudim Saga's head and weapons creates a design that feels cohesive. The high-quality sculpting and detailed paintwork, typical of METAL BUILD releases, make this figure visually striking.

The articulation is excellent, shared with Dynames and Repair 3 models, and the extensive array of weapons and accessories provides a lot of play value. Despite the minor flaw with the chin part, this figure delivers an overall satisfying experience.

While Dynames variants are starting to feel overdone, fans can look forward to future releases, like the highly anticipated 1.5 Gundam (Eyes), which is expected to be the next in the 00 series lineup.
