REVIEW MG 1/100 FA-010A FAZZ ver. KA, Bandai

This is review of Bandai assembly plastic model kit Gunpla Master Grade MG 1/100 FA-010A FAZZ ver. KA from Gundam Sentinel series.

MG 1/100 FA-010A FAZZ ver. KA Review

On MG Fazz ver. KA set contents include hyper megacanon & cable, double beam rifle, spare core fighter, landing gear parts, right gun handle and stand joint.

The decals are Ver.Ka foil seals that supplement the sensors, so water transfer decals are included. There are many marks that are large and easy to use, so I would like them to be sold separately.

There are so many surplus parts that it is difficult to cut them out. ZZ and reinforced ZZ runners are used, so there is a lot of surplus, but since runners such as backpacks are not included, ZZ and reinforced ZZ cannot be assembled. This FAZZ Ver.Ka kit is based on the MG ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka and Enhanced ZZ released before by Gundam Sentinel.

Armor is attached to the whole body and it is a very voluminous aircraft. This time, it was sold to the general public before Full Armor ZZ, and although there are many places that have been diverted, various parts have been newly modeled. Based on the MG ZZ Ver.Ka, the joints are a combination of KPS and polycaps. If it is such a big body, the holding power will be uneasy.

So far, there is no such thing as falling down without permission, and it is stable and can stand on its own. In addition, the installation of the new armor is also neat and there is no place where it is wobbly.

The new armor doesn't have that much detail, but each duct is made into separate parts and some slits are opened, giving it a three-dimensional effect. In addition, some parts were newly made with the internal parts, so there was no feeling of extra clothes, and it was a toned and cool balance.

All armor can be removed. You can also make it look like a normal ZZ with the armor removed. This is also cool with gray and purple coloring. Since deformation gimmicks such as arms are gone, deformation is not possible.

Head Unit

The overall face has been made smaller, and the lines of the cheeks are narrowed downward, giving a more toned impression. In addition, the vulcan part is divided so that there are no joints. As for the twin eye part, the twin eye and the surrounding black part are separate parts like ZZ VerKa. Side by side with ZZ head parts assembled with surplus parts. This is also a slightly smaller impression, and the high mega cannon is shaped like a dummy.

Core Fighter

Two core fighters can be assembled, one of which is a spare. Although the coloring has changed, it is the same as the ZZ one. So the landing gear-shaped base is a clear part. The canopy can be opened and closed and can be transformed without replacement even when set on the abdomen.

Body Unit

The sensors in the center of the chest are separated from the armor to create a three-dimensional effect. Clear parts are used for some parts.

The chest missile launcher is reproduced in red molding color. The hatch has been changed from a removable type to a hatch that opens and closes with a hinge.

Weaponry

The beam cannon of the backpack now opens in an inverted V shape. Missile launcher hatch can be opened and closed without replacement. The base of the warhead is also color-coded to make it look even better.

The inner cone of the vernier is made into a separate part for a precise finish.

Arms Unit

The details of the shoulder armor have changed to three-dimensional ones, and the muzzle of the spray missile launcher is also opened. The arm has a roll axis on the forearm.

As for the wrist, only the thumb is movable and the others are replaceable. The forearms are slimmer and more balanced. The mounting part of the beam rifle on the right arm is a sliding type that can be firmly fixed.

Of course, the missile launcher hatch on the left arm is also movable. As for the forearm, it is partly new, not the one from MG ZZ. The deformation gimmick was eliminated, and the armor was thinner so that it would not swell.

Since there is a forearm roll, it is now possible to bend in a way that was not possible with ZZ VerKa.

Waist Unit

The waist armor has a separate muzzle part and some slits are open. Also, the waist cable is now a plastic part instead of a varnish tube. The side armor has an asymmetrical shape and the wings are visible. The vernier is a separate part.

Legs Unit

The legs are shaped to attach large armor, so the volume is increasing at once. The details haven't increased that much from the old version, but the smooth mold is three-dimensional.

The Maruichi mold is also opened and it is hard to see because of the color, but the inside of the duct is also made into a separate part, making it easier to paint separately. There were no painted parts that were in ZZ this time.

The impression that the thickness has decreased overall and has become slim. The soles of the feet, of course, are not hollowed out, and the polycaps are invisible.

The unfashionable look has disappeared and the upper body and forearms have become compact, making it stylish at once.

Movability and Articulation

Regarding movement, it has evolved considerably from the old version, which was almost an ornament. The shoulder armor slides to avoid interference, allowing the arm to rise above the horizontal, and the swing of the hip joint makes it possible to make it look like it is bending forward.

In addition, the missile launcher has been miniaturized, making it easier to rotate the arm. However, the rotation of the waist is almost impossible due to interference.

The legs are also easy to move at once. The waist armor is lifted together with the loincloth parts, so you can raise your legs. However, there were still many places that interfered with the design, such as the wings of the backpack.

Attached weapon is a double beam rifle. Due to the frequent use of step-down molds, seams have disappeared. In addition, the barrel part reproduces the oval design.

Compared to VerKa's, the cockpit opening and closing gimmick has not changed, but the deformation gimmick at the base of the barrel has been omitted and the parts that become the inner lid are fixed.

The beam rifle can be firmly fixed to the forearm. The holding power is also good and there is no such thing as sagging at the moment. The open hand (saber handle) parts are treated as surplus, but can be used without problems. However, the dowel that holds the saber is conspicuous, so you may cut it off.

Even with the armor off. It's a little loose and can be removed quickly, but you can also install shield parts as you like. Deploy the missile hatch. There is also a mold on the back side.

And Hyper Megacanon. It is a huge armament that is longer than the main body. The grip can be stored, and the top cover and antenna-like parts can also be moved. Also, the division is quite fine, and it looks good without any seams.

Compared to the old version, the fine color scheme such as the yellow part is reproduced with molding color, and the workmanship is improved at once. The installation method does not change in particular, just replace it with a missile pod. It holds up well and doesn't sag.

The cable can be freely changed in shape by covering the lead wire with plastic parts. It connects to the gun barrel and rear armor, but there is no particular porori.

In addition to swinging up and down, the barrel can also be tilted left and right. You can use the gun handle to hold it firmly. It is also good that it is easy to raise the arm unlike the old version.

With such a complicated design, there are a lot of things that I'm worried about, but it's hard to move due to interference, but it's very solid without the polo itself. This area was also greatly evolved from the previous FAZZ.

When using the stand, it is quite heavy, so it is easy to tilt to the right even with the action base. Also, due to the weight, the stand joint may come off depending on the angle, so it might be better to be careful.

Summary

It is based on the previously released ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka, but some of the arm parts have been newly built to balance the armor parts. Thanks to that, even with the armor attached, it has a toned proportion and does not give the impression of being bulky. In addition, various armor parts have been opened with fine details, so compared to the old version, it has a three-dimensional finish.

In particular, clear parts are used for the chest area, and the appearance is considerably improved. Also, although it is such a complicated design, it was surprisingly easy to handle and there were no parts that were easy to come off. It's a bulky kit, so it's difficult to assemble, but it's a recommended kit because you don't have to worry about the parts being rough, and it has evolved in various ways from the previous version.
