The ROBOT Tamashii Amuro Ray's Custom Dijeh builds upon the base model of the standard Dijeh, but introduces two new head options and interchangeable backpacks. The color scheme is a striking red and off-white, reminiscent of Amuro's Zeta Plus unit in demonstration colors, giving this model a unique appearance.

Head Design

The primary head design follows the same aesthetic as the normal Dijeh, featuring a mono-eye with a chin guard. The sculpt remains unchanged from the original version, with a fixed-position clear part for the mono-eye. The fine detailing, such as the main camera and duct paint, is executed with precision.

A secondary head option is included, featuring a twin-camera eye and Zeta-style face. While the eyes are metallic-painted as usual, they are set deep within the head, making them less prominent. Apart from the different eye and jaw shapes, this head shares the same structure as the regular head.

Body and Detailing

The torso maintains the same structure as the normal Dijeh, with a few additional Amuro-specific markings. The two-tone red is slightly more subdued than the prototype photos, giving the actual figure a more refined look.

On the waist, the left front armor features Amuro's personal emblem, adding more customization to the design. The arms and legs remain the same, with a thick and sturdy appearance inherited from the Rick Dias lineage, giving it a powerful, weighty look.

The shoulders are asymmetrical, with the left shoulder incorporating a weapon mount rack for additional functionality.

Backpack and Thrusters

The Dijeh comes with two backpack options. One of these features the high-mobility backpack equipped with Rick Dias-style binders, perfect for high-speed combat. The thruster bases, inner fins, and binders are all attached with ball joints, allowing for flexible movement.

Accessories and Weapons

Included in the set are multiple accessories that enhance the playability of the figure. These include a beam rifle, which is the same as the standard Dijeh's, with a movable grip and detachable latch and energy pack. The Clay Bazooka also mirrors the original, with an adjustable grip.

Both weapons can be mounted on the backpack or the left shoulder weapon rack. Additionally, energy packs can be stored on the back of the right shoulder shield for easy access.

When equipped with the twin-eye head and high-mobility backpack, the figure can also wield the Hyper Mega Launcher, a powerful weapon that has been recolored but retains its original sculpt. The launcher includes articulation for its arm mount, grip deployment, and barrel adjustments. The rear arm connector also allows for stability during dynamic poses.

Comparisons and Customization

In comparison to the standard Dijeh, the most noticeable changes are the color scheme, head options, and backpack choices. While the sculpt remains unchanged, these customizations give Amuro Ray's Dijeh a completely different and unique presence.

For collectors, the set also includes two different stand joint options: one for the Tamashii Stage and another for a Metal Build-type stand, offering versatile display possibilities.

Summary

The original Dijeh was released in 2017, but even now, the figure holds up remarkably well in terms of proportions and detailing. The additional twin-eye head, high-mobility backpack, and striking red and white Amuro colors complement the overall design perfectly, resulting in a stylish and impressive model.

In terms of articulation, the figure slightly lags behind newer releases from the ver. A.N.I.M.E. line, but still manages to offer a solid range of motion, especially in the shoulders, which can extend nearly 90 degrees. This flexibility allows the figure to hold the large Hyper Mega Launcher with both hands, adding to its playability. The wide array of weapons and accessories also provides plenty of variety for posing and play.

The subdued red and white color scheme is a standout feature, and with the success of this figure, fans are hopeful for a release of Amuro's Zeta Plus in the near future.
